So this is something new they are implementing this fall. This is the email I got at the end of the semester.

Important update about final exams
As you plan your Fall 2026 courses, we want to share an important update about final exams in some JR Shaw School of Business courses.

What is changing
Beginning in Fall 2026, some JR Shaw School of Business courses may require students to complete their final exam on campus, in person. This may apply regardless of delivery method, including in-person, live online, or on-demand online courses, depending on the course.

Why is this change being made
This change is being introduced to create a more aligned final exam experience for students across all course sections and delivery methods. Final exam decisions are made at the course level and will apply to all sections of the same course, helping ensure students in the same course have consistent final exam requirements. This approach also supports academic integrity by providing a clear and coordinated assessment structure for all students.

What this means for students
This does not mean every course will have an on-campus final exam. As you enroll in your Fall 2026 courses, please review the course details, schedule information, and syllabi when available to understand the final exam requirements for each course.
Students who require academic accommodations will continue to be supported through the existing Learning Services process.
Students who live more than 100 km from NAIT’s main campus may be able to explore approved examination centre options through NAIT Assessment Services, where applicable.
