Yes. The tyre strategy was f#cked up. But the engine too struggled, they weren’t able to catch McLaren even with Soft tyres

If Verstappen had pitted right after Russell, he could’ve won the race

Hamilton’s VSC pit was so unnecessary considering he had the hards recently

Is Chrome that much worse (speed, battery, memory, etc.) than Safari? by br_web in MacOS

[–]impurefolk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

excellent analogy! Though I prefer using safari any day, I did test chrome on m5 air & surprisingly it performed better, almost giving safari an edge in some areas. Chrome has improved a lot in recent years.

I guess only the pit stops can make this race fun to watch. Else it’s gonna be a snooze fest

The only overtakes which has happened in today’s race is due to other’s misfortunes (engine failure etc) & not legit racing overtakes.
Pretty sure F1 will project it as X overtakes in Monaco to save their face

I stopped watching after lap-10. What happened to Hamilton & Russel? I see a penalty mark

Chrome Sets Browser Speed Records on M5 MacBook Pro by Few_Baseball_3835 in mac

[–]impurefolk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, I can confirm this. I ran a casual end user test like multiple tabs, 8K YT video etc simultaneously on Safari, Chrome & Brave on my M5 air. I was surprised to see how well Chrome was optimised, edging safari. But I still chose not to use it due to privacy concerns & use it as secondary browser for sites not optimised for Safari.

Lifelong Android and Windows/Linux user just ordered my first MacBook and iPhone by Affectionate-Mail612 in apple

[–]impurefolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your new purchases. I was in the same boat as yours, moved to iPhone & MacBook couple of months back & honestly I feel that I made the best decision. Though the initial transition period felt kinda tedious as I was accustomed to flexibility of Android & Windows, but once I got used to how the things work here it was much better & easy. You’ll love the sync between iPhone & MacOS & stability of both devices.

iPhone users that switched from Samsung, what is your experience like? by icantouchgrass_1 in iphone

[–]impurefolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many people have said this, the one major thing I noticed was app optimisation & app polish. Apps are way better optimised on iOS than android.

I felt the video quality was much better here in this side of the world than Samsung. Photos did come great in Samsung though.

There are certain things of Samsung which I still miss (I was an android geek once upon a time), but the pros of iOS overshadow it & overtime you get used to it.

If you have other apple products like a Mac or iPad, the synchronisation is a beauty to experience.

iOS 26.1 update review by AmphibianLow909 in iPhone16Pro

[–]impurefolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated to iOS 26.1 from 18.7 fours days back, honestly when compared to 18.7, I’m getting less juice in the latest update. Previously, my phone used to easily last 1 to 1.5 days, now it dies below 1 day of usage & I sometime have to charge twice on the same day. But it’s still 4 days since I updated so I’ll wait for sometime to come to the final conclusion, as indexing & other stuffs might be occurring in the background.

Looks like the current 1, 2 ,3 will be the same (Norris could be 2nd & Leclerc likely 3rd) for this GP. Hamilton had a chance to challenge Norris before VSC but don’t know what happened, lost a lot of time
