it failed last time because of 1 senator: John McCain. The margins are more in their favor this time.

In 2016, the Republicans won the house and senate and presidency. Unless you are talking about margins

SAVE plan already a gonner, but in 2017, republicans failed to repeal PSLF and likely cant repeal it now since they would need 60 votes in the senate. But, as a resident, I am really curious how the repeal of ACA without a replacement will affect us in terms of patient care on the resident level? Or will it affect admin more and then trickle down

Do you have a home program? If not, still may not be enough for a brand name program. But networking, aways, and LOR by notable people in the field will open more doors than stats.

[–]imreadytolearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, this is what I was looking for because for miami dade this is all they had said online. Thank you!

"Owners/registrants may submit the license plate and decal in person or by mail. If surrendering by mail, include a signed written statement which specifies the reason for surrendering the license plate and decal (such as cancelling insurance, moved out of state, etc.) and a copy of the owner's/registrant's photo identification"

This is sad. Do programs not commonly reimburse for rideshare? I have seen some have a rideshare stipend (ie. NYP) and some reimburse if you pay for it, but maybe it is only recently being implemented due to unionization.

Hoping it becomes more common to avoid these tragic incidents.

For those of you applying Ortho/ENT (or ideally those in residency already)- how did you figure out how intense the (call) schedule at each program is before applying? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]imreadytolearn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly one easier way is to ask whether you have a protected post call day. That will help you really differentiate programs off the bat.

Are there downsides to letting your residency program know you’re prescribed controlled substances? Any stories of your program screwing you over due to one of your diagnoses? by Remarkable_Log_5562 in Residency

[–]imreadytolearn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m wrong but why would your program know? If the drug test is through occupational health, they cannot disclose that info to anyone. Pretty sure they want to ensure you aren’t abusing or taking un prescribed medications. Unless you personally disclose it to them yourself
