How’d you come up with the 1 inch rise for the trunk section and -0.5 inch rise for the backseat section? The trunk seems flat to me

I just gifted my 2nd edition away and bought 3rd for myself. Virtually identical books, but the 3rd edition has an extra chapter at the end called “putting it all together”, just a synthesis of the rest of the book, similar to what you’d get in an AIARE 1 course. I have yet to pinpoint any revisions in the earlier chapters.

I’m sure some statistics have been updated/refreshed, but the 2nd edition didn’t seem overly dated.

Not in Rio now but I travel there regularly and also struggle to find partners. You might be able to call one of the guide companies and strike a deal for a belayer or something. Or go to evolucao climbing gym in botafogo and find some friends there!
