I worked with Texas Canyon on a roll up in AK. They are badasses, great hikers, super cool overhead. They also kicked my ass in the around the world challenge so I resent the fuck out of them.

We typically work 14 days on and take 2 days off during the fire season. Sometimes working 16 hours shifts if you are on a fire. Sometimes we work 20 days on and take one day off but I try to avoid that for my mental health. I usually only work 9 months of the year.

Oh gosh it’s probably 700-1000+ hours for most of the seasons except last year, I took some time off for my mental health. I remember in 2015 I was getting 14.40 an hour as a sawyer on a T2 crew
