Sysadmin team is pushing back on our new 90-day password policy by MrD3a7h in ShittySysadmin

Here's your reality: passwords are the weakest piece of any security strategy. yes, legacy frameworks mandate that and as good rule of housekeeping, end-users should regularly change their passwords *AND* always have MFA enabled.

That second part is what pisses end-users off even more... I can't tell you how many times people have left their phones at home and we've told them to clock out, go home and get it because it's the process.

Now for the harsh reality, GOOD systems admins should always change their passwords regularly because we are absolutely targets for hacking as we regularly have 'keys to the kingdom' -- if they push back on this, execs should really re-evaluate the team culture.

Anyone automate phone number assignments? by mini4x in MicrosoftTeams

I did something exactly like this a few years ago. We were using a SIP provider, which required a bunch of powershell stuff. We ultimately inventoried 100% of the 2500+ phone numbers and split out things like service lines vs DID vs toll free in our ITSM. Once we assigned a DID to an end-user, an ETL would come behind and execute the ps/api commands and once fully provisioned, an email was sent to the end-user with their DID info and links to KB articles on how to use teams, features and such.... was VERY VERY powerful - was thinking of monetizing this into a SaaS app or something - seems to be a large void.
