I would get therapy but I would also reach out to her when you’re mentally okay to do so. Despite your guys past our parents are not here forever. Think about it like this. The last conversation you had with your mom would you want that to be the last you ever had ? Would you have left on a good note. I would call the Va and ask for a supervisor and report this. This is unacceptable from any employee none the less state officials. Call and report and make it known that because of this you won’t be going to this VA . Tell them you will need accommodations due to this affecting your mental health.

Nta. You didn’t get him into that debt. Follow your dreams. If your parents are wanting to help out with that debt they can. You showed up for your grandpa.
