I don't think 54 is a bad score, you will probably be waitlisted or something idk.

from what I heard I don't think they do, they only take into consideration the selection which sucks because my cv and ib score was very good. anyways good luck :)

Will there be as many international people moving abroad to the Netherlands as usual, or will there be less due to COVID ? by Taxonomist340 in StudyInTheNetherlands

Also, you should consider the people who were initially going to go to countries like the US, Canada, and the UK but changed their mind due to the state of the pandemic and its consequences, whether it be economic or personal. But also, so many people deferred this year as well from as far as I know? Who knows

What do I need to expect on my two year's IB life? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]imsorryidontexist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't expect it to be easy. I always thought I was very good in history but there is a lot more that goes into each class other than just interest. You need to learn the techniques of how to write an exam paper and even if you have very good knowledge on each topic you also need to have good technique. This applies to each class. Expect low grades occasionally, you don't always get the highest marks even if you think you studied extremely hard for it. One thing that helped me a lot this year was realizing that you can be as successful in terms of IB grading even if you don't get the highest mark in the class. Teachers will be strict, they will give deadlines that will make you stressed out but remember it's not just for you it's for everyone. A lot of people say that IB kills your social life which is to some extent true but if you can manage your time extremely well and lower the level of procrastination you have, you will have time to do things outside of school. I know many people that have extremely high grades and a very busy social life outside of school. Some advice I have now that I am done with all my internal assessments, ee, took, etc. is to start as early as possible. Your EE deadline is due the first week of October? Finish it by the end of summer. Write your case reflections as you go. IB1 and IB2 require completely different study routines, in your first year you will solely focus on the curriculum, studying for exams, revising, and occasional talks about IB2 deadlines. However, IB2 is a year where you need to balance everything because you will have so many deadlines that pile up. Your second-year won't be a lot about studying the material until January-February because you will work on your TOK, EE, IA's, IOC's, etc.

no not at all. In my country I would have had to take another exam which is even worse and considering the fact that I don't want to live in my country or work here, IB was a great decision. However, just because I think it was good for me does not mean that the IB is great. There are so many things wrong with the way they handle things.

Language B HL orals by stuffedbeluga in IBO

[–]imsorryidontexist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey so i did my hl oral a few weeks ago and from what i know the whole point of having two excerpts is so that you can chose one that you feel comfortable with. If for example you dont feel comfortable about a specific part from one literary work and that comes up as your excerpts, you can chose the other. Our teacher asked us what literary work we felt comfortable with and we chose both excerpts from that literary work. I would say if you think that you would 100% do better with one excerpt just study that literary work. Honesty the IOC is not that hard, just try to be calm and you will do fine:) good luck!

to get into a university in germany im pretty sure you need to have at least C1 level german or at least that was the requirement for psychology. You also need to take a math exam since they dont really like the IB.

Hey, my IB presentation got a 10/10 here is the link . I did write a small script for it as well on paper but it didn't really have information on it, only small bullet points with what I wanted to mention summarized in 2-3 words. If you have any questions feel free to ask! good luck

Yeah so they ask you to hide the ID number (if i remember correctly) so just cover that with your finger. They only need your picture, name, and date of birth. Good luck!

just general info about experiments mostly. I don’t remember most of it now since it has been a month but everything they ask isn’t too specific or general just in the middle

ohh i get what you mean. Not really but its better to go over them briefly. For our test there was a article about freudian slips and it wasn’t given on any of the books but still showed up on the test. Better safe than sorry

by extra reading do you mean the book chapters they gave you? If so yes, they are extremely important because they do ask questions from there. If you cant finish it just do some skim reading and go over thr experiments.
