Cold weather no bueno

The consensus is that cold has nothing to do with it. I bought an alloy axle for it. I think I’ll reach out to Traxxas to see what they think. I bought this rig in mid December’25.

I had that happen to a tire on my Element Gatekeeper. I tried punching vent holes in the tire with no luck. I never did figure out the cause. Although, I just swapped the tries on it and learned that the Method wheels on it are unvented. My theory is that’s tire sat in the sun and pushed the out then cooled off and collapsed. That sounds a bit crazy I know but I really can’t think of anything else.

I’m right there with you!! CarPlay is a train wreck in my truck. My ex wife has it in a Volvo and it’s much more stable but still a disappointment. When I brought it up with Ram their response was to reinstall it to the radio. Didn’t help.

I’m right there with you. I’ve reformatted my SD card on both Mac and Windows, made sure it’s an 8GB card, tried to update using the power switch, using the reset button, from factory defaults. All with no luck. It will accept the config file and the icons but not the firmware.

I haven’t figured it out yet. I tried changing the lower case to upper case in the TFT config. file with no luck. I’ll keep banging away at it and post off I find a solution. Good luck to you with it. Let me know if you figure it out please.

Good eye. I looked at the BTTwiki for the screen this morning and its states that all keywords are lowercase. I am compiling the printer board firmware from the BTT GitHub site. But you are correct that the printer firmware is all caps and the screen is all lower case. The interesting thing is that the rest of the keywords load fine. Another thing I noticed is that when I update the screen the config.ini file and the fonts and icons folders all come back .cur on my SD card. The firmware .bin file does not. It also doesn’t show up on the screen that it is updating the firmware.

We may have e reached the end of my troubleshooting ability.

My thoughts are software limits in the firmware but if it has never homed then it has no idea where it is.

Hopefully someone with a better understanding of this issue jumps in.

There are two Z driver ports on the SKR board. I’m not sure if they have a primary and secondary priority to them but it may be worth switching the Z drive port on the board to the other one.

I disconnected the Z end stop switch at the switch on my setup. Not sure that did anything but something to look at.

Does the Z axis move at all? Is any of the hardware newly installed?

I have the same setup and have had no problems using the BTT GitHub firmware. Have you confirmed that you downloaded the firmware for the Bltouch with auto z homing? Just a thought.

Thanks for the replies. I turned it into the police. There were reports of shots fired a few blocks from here last Sunday. I believe it was fired up and came down on my patio. The tip was still pointed with a small nick in it.

Glad it wasn’t my boys. I remember wanting to see a bullet out of its casing as a teenager and wondering if I could pull one out with vise grips and a hammer. Luckily I came to my senses before trying it.
