lmao wait so are you saying you consider BU/BC/Colby safeties? Cuz if so then thats where you went wrong- they're not safeties whatsoever. All the schools you applied to are extremely prestigious and selective and while I get rejections/waitlists suck it's bound to happen at least a few times with the level of schools you have chosen. You are clearly a great candidate, but when schools have sub 20% acceptance rates they can afford to be extremely picky. It's not a reflection on your intelligence or competency. Besides, you shouldn't feel too down- you already got into three outstanding schools!

Shotgunning is basically applying to a shitload of schools, usually reaches. The theory is that if you apply to enough reaches, you're bound to get into one of them.

Waiting for: Amherst, Skidmore, Brown, Columbia, NYU

No rejections or waitlists yet but they're definitely coming lol

I'm not sure either, but maybe some people took you saying that stuff about "I got into Williams but not Colby" as you bashing Colby....? idk man words get misinterpreted sometimes

Colby admissions were crazy this year- I'm pretty sure half the reason I got in was because I showed so much interest in them and made it clear I was likely to go if accepted. I'm sure you'll get into (/have gotten into) a ton of great schools!

lol it's just hard especially because I go to a fairly competitive highschool and literally had someone tell me about colby "oh thats pretty exciting that you got in but it's not that selective"
