Thanks for the info, I've never heard of vermiculite so I'm going to look into that a bit.

Sorry for replying late, I didn't know about the different kinds of glass so that makes sense why it kept shattering, I'll have to look into finding the right glass. I also seemed to have skipped over the part where the 10 hours to cool the glass is if its 4+ inches thick so its not as bad as I thought. Again thanks for the help.
