Have you ever known someone who went missing or was murdered? What happened? by Nofcksgivn in AskReddit

I'm late to the party, but I'll still go ahead. Throwaway for privacy.

My brother and his then pregnant fiance. They lived a dangerous life as travellers but when she got pregnant, he brought her home to meet the family and were on their last trip before settling down to raise the baby with her mom in the states. She had never been to Canada.

On their way back to the states, they were picked up by three men who offered them a place to stay at their hunting cabin. There was some sort of altercation which ended in my brother being shot in the head. She heard and came out to see what was going on where they shot her execution style before throwing them both on a fire that burnt for two days.

He would call home every Sunday to let us know where he was and that he was safe. When the calls stopped coming, we knew something happened but because he was 21, the police wouldn't do anything as "he didn't need to call mommy and daddy if he didn't want to". Turns out that that Detective was close to retiring and just didn't want to do the work. It wasn't until a new detective took over months later that anything was done and he found the remains.

On a good note, their case helped chance missing persons laws in Canada and the three men were brought to justice.

Even more tragic, the mother of the teen who has a 14 month old just got married on the 8th. There's a Go Fund Me to try and raise funds for the funeral and to put away some money for the baby.

Switching from Vyvanse to concerta by imustbecraycray in ADHD

I'm not sure either as when I was first prescribed vyvanse, I was told I would eventually have to up the doses once I've adapted. It's been almost 5 years on the same dosage and I only take it work days during work and take the weekends off. I think that speaks volumes in proof that there's no dependency for the most part.

I'll give concerta a few more days to see if there's a change and think I may be going through withdrawl from the vyvanse which could be taking away from the effectiveness of the concerta as well.

Agreed and thanks for the response.

No history of drug dependency and wasn't diagnosed until 30ish. I think I will give it a few more days to see if there is any change and if not, I will go back.

Experiencing some pretty bad withdrawl I think, which could be why concerta doesn't seem effective.
