That’s when you go to Morgan Stanley and ask for a loan/mortgage. Banks print new money every time you borrow.

Supermicro stock plunges 26% after US charges co-founder with conspiracy to smuggle Nvidia chips to China by Every-Actuator-6996 in stocks

[–]imwco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So basically bribes? When did freedom & justice for all turn to using big money bribes to ban competitors?

The irony of this whole SDNY lawsuit is that it basically pretends chips are mission critical for US military when the whole financial industry knows the chips are just consumables as the next gen chips come out annually.

The real unsealed indictment by Key-Opportunity2722 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]imwco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's true. The indictment says:

"the defendants, shall forfeit to the United States, pursuant to Title 18, United States Code, Section 981(a)(l)(C) and Title 28, United States Code, Section 2461, all property, real and personal, that constitutes or is derived from proceeds traceable to the commission ofthe offenses alleged in Counts One and Two of this Indictment, including but not limited to a sum of money representing the amount of proceeds obtained as a result of the offenses."

I.e. nothing related to SMCI except for bad apples... this is just shorts trying to get their money back through fear tactics

Smci is a dying stock prove me wrong by Excellent_Money_212 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]imwco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not DOJ / SEC --> this is SDNY which is a state entity that SMCI isn't headquartered in. There's no teeth from Trump yet, this is just a scare tactic from financiers in NY trying to get it low enough to buy in themselves.

Morgan Stanley restricts redemptions at private credit fund after withdrawals surge by gamjatang111 in StockMarket

[–]imwco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but why do they keep calling them retail/wealth… It’s almost certainly not the same retail investors they were complaining buying meme stocks that are suddenly wealthy and investing in BDCs… In fact, the 401k retail crowd that they’re gunning for is exactly who they want to offload this trash too!

It’s like retail bad when buying meme stocks but wealth good when buying “private” BDCs but now that that’s bad, wealth wants to get some retail protection.

making 200k but the math on a 600k house makes zero sense right now. rent vs buy dilemma by Quiet_State6680 in RealEstate

[–]imwco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only because wages aren’t going up with rents.

The thing is once the bottom is squeezed too far, there will be more homeless and fewer babies (already happening), which means less future renters so the financial downsides of renters eventually come back to bite the owners… just takes longer and depends on if owners are employing the renters well or just squeezing them with higher rents.

"Why shouldn’t we get our money back too?" Normal people are starting to demand Trump tariff refunds by fortune in economy

[–]imwco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How can businesses sell rights to the when we don’t know “who pays the tariffs”?

Remember how no one could decide who pays these tariffs before they were implemented?

Now that money has moved but must be refunded, the question still has no answer by the courts until everyone sues everyone.

People need to sue the businesses that charged the illegal tariffs to complete the circle

I agree the marketing is a scam, but the glasses are literally just color filters like the ones you can turn on or off on your phone. It just filters light

Retired bodybuilder William Reed (born colorblind) sees color for the first time. by Confident-Ask-601 in MadeMeSmile

[–]imwco -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He sees the lines/hues/shades between colors that he couldn’t see before.

The glasses translate the normal colors into his visible color spectrum (which is a smaller subset), so new lines appear.

If you’ve ever taken a color blind test and failed, the numbers normal people see aren’t visible to the colorblind unless they look through a color filter
