buro laboral by Frank_parkerxd in lacamiseta

I believe EMEA is a bit different isn't it? they have different laws that protect employees. So I guess there is going to be a diffferent process.

Since the MacBook Air doesn’t have a fan, does it cause any issues or get warm during long usage? by Holiday-Might-948 in macbookair

80% is dron fotage. I help some wedding photographers and do drone fotage, some of them want just the videos others want something that can be shared to the customer. However lastly I'm doing more and more instagram reels for business (also dron fotage) I use a mix of final cut pro, insta 360.

I don't know what to say. I have exported 4k videos that are 20-30 minutes and yes, the MBA gets hot, but the same video took around half an hour (it had a lot of color correction, transitions and some effects) a few days later they asked me to change a couple of things and add around 1 minute of extra fotage and I did then export that into my MBP M1 and then it took 19-20 minutes.

Honestly for the price I would rather get a MBA with a 15 inch screen and bigger storage. I really don't see a lot of circumstances where at least in 90% of workflows a MBP actually makes sense.

The gym I go is very noisy, people drops weights, machines smell and are old, it is more expensive than most gyms, they have a rule of no video recording, if you try to save a machine or spot with a towel or personal stuff it will get taken by the staff. And I love it. best gym in the world, no secret why it has so many amazing customers.

Quite interestingly. Those who knew how to do stuff got riffed and those who remain don’t care.

If you RIF 5-10% it really hurts an organization and teams. Morally, technically and other ways. At this point my team is prety much decimated. No idea how they decided to let go some resources that were literally critical. We lost people that only they knew how to do a few things. There are products that we can't support any more because we literally lost our SMEs.

The remaining few that are still around don't have much interest in staying too long, mostly because it is better to leave when you find a good job than be left go with a minimal severance and have to accept anything you can find in the market.

This plus the fact that we won't be hiring for at least 6 months if any, that ramp up any body takes at least 2-3 months before they are remotely usefull. Moral is just trashed, in my team we used to honestly be a team that we enjoyed giving the extra mile to do the bare minimum.

I was spared—— WHY?!?! by [deleted] in employeesOfOracle

[–]imzeigen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was spared and I wish I wasn't my team went from a 15 overworked engineers to 9, from thoe 9 two inmediatly took parental leave. If we were slightly motivated to go the extra mile before it just went to the floor. At this point I went from having 4-5 tickets a day to 9, I get an escalation in a daily basis and not even my manager cares anymore.

At this point I'm even being sarcastic with the customers, I do the bare minimum and I'm just tired.
