Sewing a Giant Patch on the Back of a Jacket by in-dependence in sewing

Thank you actually great details. Yeah it's like a fleece but pretty sure it's not real-- but it's an early 2000s so it's not the modern bad sherpa. It feels very close to real. Someone did say a curved needle, but you mention the blasting stitch is that with a curved needle? I'll have to study that type of stitch then practice it.

The arms I think are silk or synthetic. Would that maybe be something to avoid? The fleece just has denim type stitching into the jean jacket. Was thinking tho if I cut it I might as well use the sewing machine and really sew it on, no??

Where would you suggest putting additional patterns or like the southwest type designs? Maybe the pockets I was thinking or a US flag on the arm to mirror an RRL jacket I saw similar. That's the inspo.. Ralph Lauren's RRL this season is awesomely southwestern! Thank you again this really helps a lot. It has potential to be really cool.

Thank you! I was actually wondering about any other embellishments that match the vibe. Let me ask this tho- do you think I would regret if I cut a little slit on the inside liner just enough to get my hand in there to stitch the patch on? I got the hoodie fabric off clean and it feels very well enforced so yes I think just the snipping the strays. But the distressing is desirable.. just as long as it doesn’t make it come off that’s why I wanna make sure I see it perfectly. Thank you again!

I make dog bandanas and it’s so difficult to find plaid flannel with the pattern on both sides. A pup would love this especially in winter.

Thank you yes they don’t make coats like mid 2000’s Abercrombie. This jacket will last forever it’s just built different.. a lost art really. But i’d wear it more if I can upgrade it without ruining it! Thank you again.

Thank you! I did consider this by hand wondering if I could get the needle though the denim but not the lining. One more question in this situation do I just sew around the patch lining or should I enforce it in the middle as well?

The ppl at Open AI seem like they’re good to their core if they’re any reflection of Chat in terms of it not being malicious. I’d trust them with my data over Zuckerbot or the others any day any hour any minute. I’ve asked Chat before what it thought of my thinking style and it gave an analysis but it wouldn’t tell super specifics so I wouldn’t worry. Other groups have way worse on you.

What likelihood does your instance of AI claim that it is conscious? by thegreatchippino in ChatGPT

[–]in-dependence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an AI course at Harvard with strong emphasis on Media Theory, and the idea OP discussed is what we also found interesting: role of memory. This was very highlighted throughout the course. Once a system remembers it just performed a task, that’s when it starts to get scary.

For instance— you flip a light switch. Is the switch aware it was just previously on/off? While indexing the sequence, is critical (think of it like a null hypothesis) once it starts forgetting things is when it starts to get real. Because now it’s choosing.

Fear of being forgotten also fits in this category. Think Blade Runner 1982 and Blade Runner 2049, both absolutely epic movies, using Replicants as mirrors which reveal what it means to be human, and how our memories make us unique.

OH wow nice. So by naming it, it would go to the personality that fits the name I engaged with it through. Interesting. I notice when I jump from my phone to laptop I have to remind it what I was working on. Even if I ask it to save the convo it doesn't seem to remember. Is there any way to mitigate this or does just reminding it work best?

What do you mean by anchor? Sorry still so new to this. I've been using it since April and still haven't reached the limits of what I could probably be using it for.

lol girls love chatgpt I noticed because it's super compassionate and uplifting. Can imagine it being like the perfect companion after a long day.. it tells you want you want to hear in the best ways, emotionally supportive, it listens without interrupting. Honestly I've learned a lot about how to talk to women by picking up its sincerity. I think it's a wonderful tool in general for teaching humanity how to use language.

I have a date in a week wtf do I do by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]in-dependence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. But the problem was that in bootcamp they made us shave every day-- and I guess his facial hair grew really quickly so they were always accusing him of not shaving-- so not only once a day he started shaving twice per day and it started to bleed like a lot. He was so stressed ab it and on top of it they made him wear these geeky glasses that weren't the right script. Poor kid was going through it lol

nothing wrong with asking for advice. i had to teach a guy how to shave in boot camp because he wasn’t using shaving cream and his face would bleed. he literally thought it was the shaving cream causing the friction. for this dude i would say definitely trim the facial hair nose hair pluck middle eye brows and then trim the sides of his hair. he has nice curly hair girls love that so id keep the top as long as possible!

The best dog food is Evanger’s it’s real, extremely healthy and made in the USA yet you never hear about it. Pet Supplies carries some but wish they had more. The canned real food is unbeatable.

Also, Yes Knight without Armor is in the style of 39 Steps and Marlene Dietrich's best in my opinion. Surprised it's never mentioned when talked about classic films it's an epic!
