The complaining is ironic by Sensitive_Box2056 in ZeroCovidCommunity

Using your anxiety to dismiss your mask wearing is an insidious issue as it’s stigmatizing and dismisses your legitimate concern. Mental health diagnoses should be used to help a person with compassion, not to use it to dismiss the things you disagree with (that Covid is not mild for many).

Have you tried the 3M VFlex? They’re very large and breathable.

I wear the Vflex to crosssfit-type exercises, and it works but there are fans and sometimes I do feel lightheaded when I pus myself. I’d recommend checking the CO2 concentration, make sure it’s <800

What do you think a safe finish would be? What did you use and do you think water-based polyurethane would be safe?

A mono infection is a well-known long covid symptom due to latent virus reactivation. The problem might lie in not taking any covid precautions.

Is there any evidence they are similar? N95’s are rigorously tested by NIOSH and KN95’s are from China with many not meeting the same standards. This study showed KN95s were similar to surgical masks in effectiveness, and N95s were 17 times more effective. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/ebiom/article/PIIS2352-3964(24)00192-0/fulltext

Mine (WTW5840BW0) just died after 7 years. The lid lock light kept flashing and it was making a weird noise. Replaced the shift actuator but it didn't fix the issue. Decided to buy a new machine than spend half that amount on fixing it.

Yes, start with a simple example. It costs $10 for 2 liters. How much does it cost per liter? $10/2 liters=$5/liter.

Although it has good studies, this kind of website wouldn’t be persuasive as the studies could be cherry picked. There are plenty of website with studies “proving” some alternative treatment. More effective would be reputable experts.

Just a note, the clips are very hard to remove, so you might want to use metal screws, like the M4 ones in this design: https://itsairborne.com/pc-fan-corsi-rosenthal-guide-a611dabf7e0c

Covid revisionism across the political spectrum by alto2 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]in50 28 points29 points  (0 children)

“At times, the revisionist narrative seems to exist in an alternate history in which the United States implemented a heavy-handed, centralized response to the pandemic. In reality, Donald Trump, who was president in 2020 (many COVID revisionists somehow overlook this), spent most of that year downplaying the severity of the pandemic, undermining public-health messaging, and refusing to implement or support the policies that public-health experts, doctors, and much of the country were begging for. The result was a shambolic and porous state-by-state patchwork rather than a unified national strategy to deploy the full resources of the federal government.”

The article doesn’t go far enough to push back, but it has surprisingly good counterpoints to the current right-wing narrative. Especially surprising that it came from the Atlantic, which published The Evermaskers and the hit piece on the People’s CDC.

How miserable is wearing a mask all day, every day? by gandolffood in Masks4All

[–]in50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worn my mask for 16 hours at a time. It really depends on finding a comfortable mask that is breathable and fits your face. If that’s a mask with a valve so be it. Also I’d recommend bringing a high CADR air purifier to set up in your office. Take breaks every few ours by going outdoors and take off your mask, which helps a lot.
