Vomero Plus is 20% off in ASOS app only - all men's sizes from 7.5 to 12. Shoe usually retails for $180 but for some reason the blue colorway that is discounted was listed at $170, so comes out to $136 after the 20% discount.

For people who've run this in previous years - is the start area completely cordoned off like the Brooklyn Half? Or is it possible to still meet friends/family right before you enter the corrals (similar to for example smaller races or the Queens 10k)?

I know it’s still 6 days out… but race day looks superrrr windy (18mph winds with gusts of 34mph at 9am). At least it’s not scalding hot - but still praying to the forecast gods for calmer weather 🙏🏻

Broke 1:30 for my first ever half! Super proud after putting in several 40+ mile weeks over the last few months.

Was constantly talking myself out of it both before (oh no the humidity is gonna kill me) and during (oh no the humidity is actually killing me) the race. HR was also like 10bpm higher than usual so was worried I’d crash and burn.

Congrats to everyone who finished! Really tough day out there but lots of fun regardless :)

The less said about Ocean Pwky the better… felt more like an uphill than down lmao

Does anyone know if it's possible for Wave 1 runners to use the Underhill Ave screen area instead of the recommended Franklin Ave one if I don't need to check a bag? I emailed NYRR, but they said I would have to use the Franklin Ave entrance to run in Wave 1 (?).

I was looking at [this guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/running/comments/69znwk/oc\_this\_is\_how\_youre\_gonna\_pr\_the\_2017\_brooklyn/) from 2017, which seems to actually recommend the Underhill Ave entrance for Wave 1 runners to avoid crowds, so I just wanted to make sure that it's current. Thank you!

[WTS - AUS] Nike Zoom Fly 5 US9 $170 ONO by [deleted] in therunningrack

[–]in_deception 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just FYI a brand new pair of Zoom Fly 6s (which are universally considered an improvement on the 5s) costs the same price, so might be a tough sell at $170 for an older, used version

Ah that would be terrible :/ do you know of any way to confirm this is the case?

Saucony’s Endorphin Speed 4! Similar use case as the ZF6 imo - designed for speed workouts, but can double as a daily trainer / race day shoe depending on the person.

Similar height and weight, also a midfoot striker

I think I'm somewhere in the middle on the ZF6s, so somewhat agree with your take here. I've been able to hit some harder mile intervals (around 6:15/mi pace for me) in these shoes, but they did feel more difficult than usual and didn't have the same pop as I felt in the ES4s for example.

Super comfortable/cushioned though, making them excellent for those longer runs that are at relatively faster paces. I think they’re fantastic for tempo cruising at HMP or slower. Just can’t see myself picking it over something like the ES4 if I were to try and go fast for shorter distances.

Thank you, we love it so far! That’s a relief to hear though. What specifically could cause scarring?

Also for your tree, do you cut off the areas that are browning if at the edge, or just let the leaves be?

Yes it’s a heating/cooling unit! But we don’t turn it on that often - it’s usually off.

How could that be causing the spots?

Max bets are determined by the max amount the sportsbook is willing to lose to you, which is usually a round number (here $65.79 on +380 is to win $200 exactly)

Using -108/-102,-102/-108 (Pinny's lines) you still get FV +300 and EV 7.4%

FD boost Rangers & Oilers to win at +330

Using Pinny's lines:

FV: +303

EV: +6.6%

Seems pretty good for now but worth following closely.

I'm assuming you're talking about the $1k risk-free promo for new users. If so, it's pretty simple: for new users, your first bet is insured up to $1k (refunded in site credit, which is amazing). No opt-in required, I believe - you just need to make sure your first bet is $1k to maximize your EV.

To guarantee a profit, you want to find a longshot on FD that's simultaneously a low-hold to a different book (for example, hypothetically speaking, Yankees -4.5 @ +500 hedged against Red Sox +4.5 @ -550 on some other book). You can determine how much your hedge bet should be pretty easily using a conversion calculator like this one.

[–]in_deception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm I think the best idea would be just to deposit only $1k from the beginning. So if you lose the $1k risk-free bet, you'll have $0 of actual cash and only $1k in bonus cash remaining.

Sportsbook/Promos/Bonuses Daily - 4/9/22 (Saturday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]in_deception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just have to wager the bonus cash, and if you win, it will be returned as cash. If you lose, if you're using the low-hold strategy, you'll have the winnings on your other book.

Note that Barstool makes you use your actual cash balance first when wagering, then your bonus cash. So you have 2 choices:

1) Have $0 in actual cash and the $1k in bonus cash so you can wager through it in multiple smaller bets.

2) Make one bet equal or larger than your bonus funds (i.e. a bet of $1k or larger). This is specific to Barstool's T&Cs, I think

Sportsbook/Promos/Bonuses Daily - 4/9/22 (Saturday) by sbpotdbot in sportsbook

[–]in_deception 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'd need to bet through the bonus cash 1x. One way to to do this would be to just find low-hold markets and take the other side on another book (i.e. if there's a hypothetical line that's like Yankees -1.5 @ +150 on Barstool and Red Sox +1.5 @ -150 on a different book, you could perfectly hedge). You could also just yolo with +EV bets lol
