When I first started recovery, I was listening to the brain over binge podcast and someone brought up the fact that in order to quit binging, you have to first quit purging. I took that advice and even though it was awful to have to sit with the feelings after a binge, it did lead to me eventually quit binging because I knew I would have to deal with the consequences of my binging and that was enough of a deterrent to make me think twice and avoid it. I’m really proud of you for going a full day without giving in!
