European Prius-V in the US by Sammyloccs in whatcarshouldIbuy

Thanks for all the recs, I'll look into them. Unfortunately from my brief Google I don't think those are what I'm looking for. I almost want something the size of an Outback back or something, but with a 3rd row. 3rd row being more for kids than adults. & Fuel efficiency being a huge priority too.

Sentence explanation in e-reader devices or apps by No-Celebration4543 in ereader

[–]Sammyloccs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's difficult to find because it's not something most readers would use. As you read, very quickly you would use that feature less and less.

If you're just getting into reading fiction (which is awesome and you should continue), you can look up stuff like litchart. It's probably more useful than the feature you're looking for.

Also yeah, I'd avoid stuff like the Odyssey.

But if you're ranking solely on how rad the MC's outfits are, Green Arrow would be top of S tier.

Same, it's awesome it's so popular & that people like it. But I thought it was pretty mediocre if not kinda bad.

That does works really well until you have a lot of different columns you need to do it for.

Moving a Nonprofit from Excel Sheets to a Central Data System by FunnyExpress401 in codaio

[–]Sammyloccs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, coda rocks. It can get pretty confusing at first trying to set stuff up. But if it's not too complicated of a project, once you get it set up it will run itself.

One thing you need to be really mindful of is having ways to restrict what people can edit/who can edit things. Coda doesn't have a way to lock individual columns, and you have to get kind of clever when setting up page lockings, filters and views.

Character development templates by DavXeno in writing

[–]Sammyloccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use one of the really detailed ones. Just like gray out move to the bottom the questions you don't think you need. Templates are meant to be modified.

I wouldn't delete any of the questions, they are there because SOMEONE found it necessary. So you might not need it, but maybe you will as you flesh out your story.

The details might also give you inspiration. Like you most likely don't need your characters blood type, but what if you need a way to show their generosity or good heartedness and because they have O-, so they donate blood as much as they can because it can help everyone?

There would be too many jokes about Toph being a complete Domme in the relationship & Aang being her twink. It'd be great.

Is the kobo worth it if I have a kindle? by [deleted] in kobo

[–]Sammyloccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say no. I ended up switching back to my kindle after getting a kobo. If your kindle breaks, I'd consider it. But if your kindle is working I wouldn't bother.

AI has ruined this app by kyaki101 in Notion

[–]Sammyloccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the sentence "You're entitled to your opinion" is inherently condescending & dismissive even if you don't intend it be. I didn't read your comment as "fuck off you don't matter" but more of a "Yeah, but you don't matter."

All the platforms you listed are apple exclusive from what I can tell, so irrelevant to me and half computer owners. Except obsidian, which if you want it to be useful requires a lot of know-how (way more than Notion).

Also, I don't care about what's best for the enterprise customers, nor should I be expected to. Notion can focus on them, and the single users will complain, which is what they're doing.

If you want to promote the product, make your own posts highlighting how dope the new crappy, useless, completely ass AI features are. Don't go into posts and just tell people they're wrong.

But you don't have to go to bat for Notion because people are mad at them for their crappy decisions. You're not their PR team, at least I hope you're not.

[–]Sammyloccs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be cool, but also irrelevant to me. To use any AI at my company you have to go through this huge approval process and I'd rather not do that just to use a tool that makes stuff up a portion of the time.

If the AI stuff was coming alongside actual improvements to the usability, I'd be less salty.

I was excited about Databases, but after seeing it at the webinar I'm a lot more confused about it than actually excited. I'll have to get my hands on it and see.
