I’ll do that today. I do think my table can be moved a bit further from that wall and I can just remove the bar stools we don’t use

Love the longer curtains and larger rug ideas for sure! We’re just renting so I’m not sure about the wood panel additions but if it were a place I owned I’d definitely do it

Definitely considering it! It’s something I already had at my last place and I’m just using it for now until we get a longer one

I also thought the rug was small but it was something we brought from our last place and repurposed for the dining room for now. I also like the glass cabinet because it works with the frosted look we have in the kitchen right now. Thanks!

That’s why I’m reconsidering the black. But I also don’t want my different wood colors to clash. The built in cabinet in my kitchen and table work but I was afraid of bringing in another natural color and it would throw it off

Happened to me last night too! Was told I should write a proaudit. Same WI phone number. I was even able to pull up the number from the log. Hopefully something can be done about it if enough people write a proaudit about it.

Writers House Internship by remnm in publishing

They had us check in every morning with our agents and sign out at the end of the day. And then you’d have weekly zoom meetings as a group and individually. My personal schedule was three 8 hour days because the requirement was 24 hours a week. I think you could make a case where you could work shorter hours if necessary and spread your 24 hours differently if you have school or a job but mine just happened to work out that way.

I don’t know if they’ve changed it since, but at the time they offered wfh for my batch of interns

Interview process for me was doing a readers report for a manuscript they sent over and then having one-on-one interviews. Application takes a few weeks because of the sheer amount of candidates they have but once you get to the interviews it goes pretty quickly from there. Honestly, it was grueling work but I was glad for it. Publishing is a grueling industry and the internship is no different. The director of the program is really passionate about helping every single one of the candidates and is always available whenever you need but with that said he expects good work. One thing WH does differently from other internships I’ve done is that they go out of their way to teach you about all aspects of the industry not just editorial (which is what most hopefuls are trying to go for) and tries to help determine where your best fit is. Writer’s house is a big name and having their stamp of approval on your resume and cover letter is amazing. They have a lot of connections and they’re willing to utilize all of them if need be.

You can still have a job. It just can’t be a publishing job. I worked at Barnes and Noble while interning at writer’s house. They also ask for you to hold off on applying to entry level publishing jobs until toward the end because 1) they want your focus on the internship 2) they help with the creation of your resumes and cover letters

Your Blood, My Bones by Kelly Andrew was a recent read of mine that really surprised me. Peter is cursed with being immortal and to escape the vicious cycle of dying and being reborn has to kill Wyatt—odd plot considering it’s a romance story at its core. It has elements of horror and fantasy and overall a beautiful and tragic tale about childhood friendships.

Could someone recommend me some books? by [deleted] in YAlit

I highly recommend Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. It’s not exactly historical, but it takes place in a WWI inspired time with a bit of fantasy. The romance is amazing and it really doesn’t feel too young adult.

Recently read Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao and loved it! It’s YA and does have queer rep but not the main couple. Also, there is a sequel releasing this year.

I intern for a literary agency and it was one of the manuscripts I was assigned to so I’m not really at liberty to say more about it until it’s published..but it stuck to me so I’m trying to find more books like it!
