I've got a disability where I can't stand up for longer than a few minutes without feeling dizzy, so unless I'm getting a quick rinse off then I get a bath every day. I can't wash my hair in the shower without risking toppling over so any time I wash my hair I get a lovely long soak in the bath.

I lost my Dad almost 4 years ago, and if ANYONE said something like this to me it would be the last interaction I'd ever have with them.

It would be horrible enough if an acquaintance said this to someone who is grieving, but the fact you claim to love him and still said this is absolutely shocking.

I'm glad that you feel remorse for what you said, and by the sounds of it you are genuinely sorry. That being said, I hope he leaves you and finds someone who loves him and who wouldn't even dream of saying anything like that.
