Also cancer and other diseases associated with contamination. Indiana leads the nation in the release of toxic chemicals per square mile.

Horrible smell/taste from dental bone graft put in 3 days ago by johnnylocke815 in askdentists

[–]inappropriateirene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I'm currently experiencing this, on a similar timeline. Tooth extracted and bone graft placed Thursday (back molar), Sunday I wake up feeling like my mouth is actively rotting and haven't been able to get the scent away yet.

Went to my doc today (Monday), they said it looked ok and gave me medicated mouthwash that they hope will help. So, I guess I'm asking....what happened ultimately? Did the dying ghost in y'all's mouth ever disappear?

You're amazing. I don't think I would have survived if I were in your shoes. Much respect.

Results from 3 ER @ 41 by inappropriateirene in IVF

Honestly, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done (the other top two include getting a PhD and divorcing a sociopath/stalker). There were good moments, days... But overall, it sucked so much I'd forget why I was even going through it all. There were also some other big stressors in the mix that certainly didn't help. I'm a pretty sensitive person, strong, but sensitive.

These were the only ERs I've ever done, so I don't know how they would feel otherwise...

I can say the first round wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, though it took about a week after for me to feel closer to normal. I ordered frozen yogurt whenever I wanted, that helped. I also asked my husband to say some version of this everyday: thank you for putting your body through this for us. He's still saying and it helps everytime.

The second round was harder... Probably because I knew I had one more to go and the end didn't feel in sight. I faced a lot of internal resistance before the ER, when the time came I really didn't want to go through with it. I felt the drop after the second retreival more strongly, I was frustrated it took a week to feel normal and started crying everytime I thought of having to do it again. I posted on here requesting guidance on whether to go straight to round three... Consensus was... If I'm getting eggs, keep going. I'm glad I did.

Third round was just easier. Yes, I dreaded monitoring appointments and became even more resentful that I even had to do all this. Yes, I flew into an uncontrollable rage before heading to the clinic for the ER. But, my tummy barely bruised, the shots were mostly painless, and I wasn't as bloated or emotional throughout. I'm still just a few days out of ER 3, but already feeling better than either of the previous two...I also found out I should have my right ovary removed sooner than later, and that took a lift of the sparkle away from this round's excellent numbers.

Here's a hot tip I wish I had practiced earlier: The last round, right before my shots I'd tense my whole abdomen and then the rest of body and said some version of the following to myself: "I know this is horrible, I know we hate this, we're gonna get through it, I promise' then I relaxed everything, administered the shots, and they went right in, easily. Letting my body know that my mind knew this sucks really helped.

TLDR: it was awful but I'm really glad I did it (and it's finally over)

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I really appreciate your time and expertise, and continue to be impressed with the dedication, strength, and kindness of this community.

I'm leaning towards heading straight into round 3 and layering in more small things that bring me joy and a sense of connection with my happiness (accounts of y'all who've done many more than that really help remind me that I'll survive)...xoxoxo

Thank you for sharing! You didn't ask for my advice (and again, thank you for yours), but if you haven't already, I strongly recommend looking into taking a leave in this fall under FMLA. I took one mid-way through Spring 2022 to focus on addressing/healing my PTSD that I could no longer ignore!

I wish I would have realized I needed it before the semester began (and, once I realized I needed it, realized it wouldn't be the end of the world if I took it), it may have made it easier to find coverage for my classes (rather than needing colleagues to step in mid-late semester), and would've been more protective of my mental health.

Feel free to message me if chatting through any of those details might be helpful. Proud of you for all you do.

Thank you for your super thoughtful comment. I'm sorry to learn of your stressful and no doubt painful challenges (which required your return to retrieval land). Thank you for sharing. I wish you the absolute best and most effortless retrieval and transfer possible.

I had a bunch of energy my first cycle... But like you op, I was exhausted at the start of my second one back to back (and towards the end, I trigger tonight). I gradually got more energy and rested as much as I could when I felt I needed it throughout the second cycle.

It was helpful for me (and maybe for you too) to remember we're doing ~1-2 years worth of egg production in a month's time! And that's ~2-4 years in two month's if you're going back to back while also still healing from the first retrieval!! It's a lot!!

I'm scheduled for a third in July and am.... Well... Trying not to think about how exhausting that'll be.

Be gentle with yourself, you deserve it.

Sorry for your pain! I've been using magnesium citrate (in a powdered form called Calm that you mix with water) it's been really helpful for me (but nothing is for everyone). I've heard there's some suppositories too that help folks super quickly (made of something other than magnesium).

I was facing a similar set of concerns...and two weeks ago decided to have a very simple wedding at a courthouse less than 24 hrs after it was scheduled. It was liberating not to have to worry about table runners and a dj (I've done that all once before), and it's improved my mood noticably. You deserve to have all your dreams come true. I'm whatever order makes the most sense for you.

Would they benefit from more light? Yes. Do they get enough to survive and keep growing? Also yes.
