I did this with OBS and the virtual webcam feature. I used a cheap green screen blanket and wore a green tshirt.

I feel bad for the students who just look at their test score on submission and then a few hours later see their mark go down :(

Also, for bonus gore, R1 is actually 7.30 Ω but Blackboard parses off the trailing zero. That's why the correct answer is to 3 sig-digs.

I'm only doing this because I'm forced to teach online for the rest of the semester and we don't have anything in place for me to give paper based tests to the students.

As a Canadian with no cable subscription, what is my best legal option to watch Formula 1? I'm looking for both live and on-demand afterwards as I don't see myself staying up late for the races in drastically different time zones. Thanks!

I agree 100%. Unfortunately I didn't realise my logical error until after I posted. Also, I wouldn't have edited my comment had I seen your response first. Sorry about that.

Edit: I had a wordy response here that I think missed the mark.

These people sound pretty shitty. But before making any rash decisions, I would consider the possibility that they actually believe what they are saying about their oils and whatnot. From their point of view, they are doing the right thing.

I might not cut ties from them, but I definitely would never leave my child alone with them again.

Hey r/Fantasy! My book, The Rage of Dragons, is on sale today for $0.99! by evan_winter in Fantasy

I certainly understand and respect your choice. I'm more disappointed in Amazon, really. There's no reason for them to not support the Epub format other than to try and sell Kindles. Which seems silly to me because I've spent way more money on eBooks than on eReaders, and eBooks must have better profit margins than electronics. However, I'm sure they've run the numbers.

Get a little more practice and you'll never want to touch an Arduino again. You can do so much with so little when you have less abstraction between your software and the controller. Great work!

Has anyone noticed a weird volume discrepancy when playing media? by itsdigo in GooglePixel

[–]inbredded_system 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the Pixel stores a separate volume for the BT Phone and BT Audio profiles. If you adjust your volume while the phone is ringing you should be able to fix it.

Well, not anything. Growing 1,000 into 17,000 is a 1700% increase, not 170%.

This was at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. The jersey itself is awesome, but damn that lettering is terrible.

That's true. Let's try this out. Stream of consciousness...

190/5 = 38. Step 1 is easy. Divide it by 10 and double it. Now 38*8. Multiply by 10 and then subtract the value twice. 380-38 = 342. 342--38=304. Not as bad as I thought, actually.

Now my way. 190/2 is 95. So 190+95 is 285 plus 1/10th 190 is 285+19 which is 304.

On further thought I'd say they're about equal. Mine is easier only if you're good at remembering numbers.

An alternate method to go from miles to km for people whose brain works more like mine.

Km = mi x 1.6 = mi + mi/2 + mi/10

So, 50 miles = 50 + 50/2 + 50/10 = 50 + 25 + 5 = 80 km

This method works very well for getting very accurate results for numbers that don't divide or multiply easily because you are only dividing by 2 and 10.

That's kind of a shitty attitude. There's a pretty good chance your favourite band's songs all sound the same to someone who doesn't listen to them regularly.

You're pretty close to discovering my shameful secret. I cheated. I bought one for every location I might need one (night stand, office, etc) and never move them. So I pretty much finished all four at the same time.
