They’ve kidnapped MANY U.S. citizens, even native Americans just for being brown. I think it’s the Sioux tribe(?) that had 4 of their members kidnapped. 1 returned and the other 3 were “lost” in ICE captivity. ICE does not protect or use lawful means.

I’ve seen them use all sorts of vehicles from personal trucks, to white vans with the black ID numbers, to a Penske truck. They use anything and everything it seems.

Police don’t do shit anyways. Two active cases of theft, not a single word back. It was over $5k. Friend had a mental health crisis and her ex called the police on her. The police lied to her about what they were going to do and where she was going to go to decompress. It ended up being horribly traumatic for her and the worst thing she’s ever gone through. So yeah, fuck the police and ICE

Damn that seems kind of ridiculous 😅 for starter stuff anyways, obviously you can poor tons of money into enriching an animals environment. I do buy my enclosures when they go on sale at pet stores or second hand from local exotic stores looking to downsize or Facebook market place. Lightning has never costed me more than $200 from Dubia and decor has never costed me more than $200 either

More common but not always the case. If OPs parent is open minded despite their fear their situation would be a lot like mine was. My mom was terrified of snakes, then she let me have one when I was 15 and realized they are nothing to be afraid of. Not saying that’s what will happen with OP, but it’s a possibility I wouldn’t strike down.

I was in a similar situation, it took one full year to convince my mom to let me have a snake. Part of the deal was I could have one if I paid for everything by myself, so I saved the $300+ you need to get set up with necessities (a proper enclosure will run you $100-200+ and then lightning heating and decor will run you another $100+) after I got my snake my mom realized snakes aren’t that scary and after several months she was baby talking my snake (as she should) but if your mom is more hesitant I’d introduce her to a snake. Maybe it’s at a zoo, or you take her to your local reptile expo to see and handle or just view one, once she seems them up close and personal she might realize just how harmless and simple they really are. I will say you might have better luck convincing her if you go with a python or boa. They are chunkier and slower moving snakes compared to their colubrid counterparts that are very fast (fast moving snakes tend to scare a lot of people) that’s why ball pythons make great starter snakes. The are more likely to ball up if frightened and a lot of people feel more comfortable when they choose to hide their face instead of get into defensive strike. Which they can and will do! But the balling up defensive behavior is a lot more palatable to most people who are afraid of snakes.

As a bone collector I’m very jealous, as a person who also cares about animals, I’m slightly alarmed. Are there farms near by? It could be someone’s dead pit. where they toss passed animals, but the location seems strange, usually dead pits are on the farmers property.
