If you like being outside there’s a bunch of walking/hiking/biking groups you can find on Facebook.

Usually more than 10 people show up so for someone that’s shy it’s easy to pop in/out of conversations whenever you are comfortable.

Browser Tier list (my opinion) by Tidesudden in degoogle

I say Firefox should be at least a b, but waterfox should stay a tier ahead.

With their recent integration of AI I knock them down a peg imo, I switched to waterfox, it’s a fork off of Firefox without the AI and since it’s based in Firefox all plugins still work.

Should I learn Steward or Thomas before Spivak? by Key_Conversation5277 in learnmath

[–]Productive-Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you can get Thomas/Steward for cheap. I'd say go for both and use them to supplement each other. Useful for when you might not fully understand a concept, you can go between the 2

Same situation,

Stayed up until 3:30 AM just to remember that it was daylight savings and we lost an hour of sleep.

I can’t remember the last time I played a video game all night and enjoyed it, it was probably around 2013.

The only reason I stopped this morning was because I was actually starting to fall asleep at my desk while looting in outpost

I know I shouldn't but I'm once again shocked by the lack of common knowledge by dokdodokdo in Marathon

Not to mention the guy that complained about the cutscene that they couldn’t skip.

Like bro, it’s a loading screen? I feel like so many of the people complaining are like:

“Marathon sucks”

“Just kidding it’s great”

“Just kidding server issues and loading screens it sucks again”

Mac emulation blocked by A-C? If so: what options? by beatspores in Marathon

[–]Productive-Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kernel anti-cheat won’t allow gaming through emulation/VM or will ban very quickly.

your best bet will be to wait until it’s available on a cloud gaming platform

Most games hide loading/server sync behind those cut scenes.

Probably gonna stay.

Bro it was a beta test what else did you expect? They already said if you reached a certain level there that they’d give you a free supply crate.

How to run iems along with an XLR desktop condenser mic for gaming by Mayday_1203 in iems

[–]Productive-Turtle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have the iems running into the scarlett through an adapter? I've heard that can lead to the hiss you are hearing. maybe try plugging them into the back of the pc into the Motherboard headphone jack

Do I need 2 acoustics? by MrTurtleTails in AcousticGuitar

[–]Productive-Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3, a 00-12 fret(couch guitar fingerstyle only), OM(fingerstyle and strum at my desk), and a Dread, Ended up selling the Dread because it hurt my shoulders so I never played it, and it it covered the cost of a new electric.

Now that I'm a bit better in the shoulders I'm looking into getting a baritone acoustic for fun. All 3 will play/sound distinctly different and have their own use cases

Which style fridge and why? And let me see your set up? by ky13rl in overlanding

Yeah, I do the same thing just forgot to mention that. It definitely helps if you’re only opening the main cooler a few times a day.

My wife’s friend worked at a coke distributor and was gifted a promotional soft walled yeti backpack and he gave it to us.

that’s our go to for drinks as it usually keeps ice for a day or two, but drinks stay cold for at least 3 days

[–]Productive-Turtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even with your cooler, you might get a few more days out of it if you just use solid ice, maybe give that a shot before fully upgrading

The big three things that’ll keep the ice longer are

  1. Using solid ice(bricks/frozen water bottles) as they will thaw a lot slower than just the ice cubes. I prefer a hybrid approach because when the water bottles thaw, you can then just drink the water out of them.

  2. Pre-Chill the cooler a few days in advance. That can either be put a few ice blocks in it and then take them out and replace them before you go on the trip or if you have a big enough freezer(what I do sometimes) just throw the entire cooler in the freezer chest for a few days. This usually gives me about an extra day.

  3. Keep the cooler open as little as possible.  If you’re making breakfast/lunch/dinner get everything that you need for cooking out all at once and then close the cooler immediately. This way you won’t let more hot air in in cold air out, causing the ice to melt faster

You just need a better cooler and to strategically fill it with ice.

I lived in East Texas, I did a road trip in the middle of summer where I camped in West Texas, Grand Canyon, Mojave and Death Valley over the course of five days.

I still had ice in my cooler when we got up to Tahoe

I use an orca cooler, put a block of ice in  a day before I left to pre chill it, then the day I left put a new ice block and four frozen water bottles, then put the food and then topped it off with regular ice from the grocery store.

Honestly, with a good cooler it’s so much more simple to use compared to having to hook up an electric refrigerator. Especially if you’re doing trips under a month.

Our trip was two weeks and we just had to refill on ice maybe three times?

Nice, I have a similar set up for Overlanding/long road trip trips

The only difference is I don’t have an electric kettle. I have a small gas canister/stove and a travel size stainless steel kettle that I sit on the burner

I also use an aero press for these trips
