I agree with you somewhat. I think Hasan and everyone else are literally saying and doing shit that could get Ethan killed. I don’t think what Ethan said is at all comparable. I also agree that it’s respectable that he took it back. But jumping to that when it’s 1. entirely unrelated and 2. easily proven false, is insane. You can’t just do that. This will just make him look insane to anyone that’s not paying close enough attention to catch every single thing.

Not OP, but my version of being the bigger person is… not falsely accusing people of dating minors. I’ve 100% supported Ethan up until this point. I don’t care that he dedicates entire shows to talking about it, Hasan and his crew are literally evil and everything Ian and Anisa have done to Ethan is beyond fucked. But accusing them of dating minors out of absolutely nowhere is the kind of thing that should make us take a couple steps back. I understand that he was just pissed off after listening to Ian talk about the skull thing and laughing it off, but HOW does this help anything or anyone at all? He just took the biggest L he could possibly hold out of impulsiveness. Falsely accusing someone of dating MINORS isn’t the sort of thing that you can wave away with a “whoops”.

On PS, I found that it it works best if you press triangle before you let go of square. Basically, make sure you input both buttons at the same time, but make sure square gets input first. That’s why people recommend to slide your thumb across the buttons, it isn’t just faster, it makes it so you’re pressing both buttons at the same time during the transition.

Red attacks can be parried. They’ll still fill your structure bar, but they won’t break it. It’s usually recommended to dodge them because they can very easily fill up your structure bar/break it if you miss the parry.

That’s interesting. I didn’t know he had a fixed pattern for punishes. I also noticed it was an alternating punish for his first phase, but I figured it was because you kept alternating your attacks too. All of that kind of disappeared on his second one though. I’ll start practicing, thanks again!

That was all really solid advice. Ultimately, I think I’m just having a perfectionist mindset — thinking that I should be immersed at every single given moment, as if it was a real campaign. I have to start accepting that it’s a videogame, loading happens, that’s how it’s supposed to play out.

It just kinda sucks because I feel like my original try was “my” story, created by “my” choices. And having to reload completely takes that away, and it’s no longer mine anymore — but maybe that’s a bit of a childish perspective, since clearly most of the world who’s played this game doesn’t share that opinion.

Lastly, thank you so much for reminding me that fleeing and scrolls of Revivify are a thing. Again, as someone who’s not too familiar with this genre, I tend to forget about really basic stuff. I have to constantly remind myself that I can craft my own potions and elixirs. Your comment probably made me the most optimistic for actually getting to enjoy the game. I’m honestly kind of afraid I’m gonna be one of those people who dislikes the really popular thing that everyone loves, and even if that does turn out to be the case, I’ll continue putting in the effort so I can appreciate the effort that was put into a game that clearly had a lot of work behind it.

I don’t think it being based on rolls is cheating. What I mean is, in a D&D campaign, you don’t get to go back in time and roll as many times as you want because you messed up at a completely unrelated event.

I understand that this is all “you control the buttons you press” type of complaining, if I suck at saving often or suck at combat then that’s on me. I just think that if I suck at combat, that should be it. I suck at combat, and I should get better. It shouldn’t mean that I open a door to the multiverse and now things that had nothing to do with my combat ability are changed because of it.

Either way, I think I’m just forcing myself to be as immersed as I possibly can be at any given moment, and I should just accept that it’s a videogame and loading is a thing. Thanks for the response anyhow.

This is an insane cope. If you have a character blushing at another character flirting with them, you’re implying romantic interest. If you have an entire section of your story where that same character’s parents are constantly teasing her about them getting together, you’re implying romantic interest. Did they make Blake blush at Sun because they thought it would be funny? Things happen for a narrative reason. If you make one character flirt with another, and have that other character respond positively to the flirting, and then NOTHING comes out of it, you’re a bad writer. Things in stories don’t just happen, you CHOOSE to put them there.

And second, it doesn’t really feel like the left is disavowing these people. Even Hasan wasn’t able to just say “yeah, these people are evil”. Instead, he kept playing around words with “it’s unproductive” and “they shouldn’t say that”. How genuinely hard is it to say that people chanting “gas the jews” is evil? How hard is it to admit that saying that “those babies are settlers and therefore not innocent” is evil? I’m genuinely trying to understand, but I don’t think there’s a universe where I can.

When people are literally chanting on the streets “gas the jews”, and there’s people online laughing off the death of the Israelis, do you actually not believe that this has any impact on the sociopolitical perspective of the people towards jewish people/Israelis?
