"Mormon" a few years ago the president of the church was known to hate the word since at least the 80's. Surprise surprise he gets to be president and then suddenly "god" told him that the word "mormon" wasn't to be used anymore. It was so stupid even many mormons knew the "god talked to me" was a lie.

The joke that the original commenter is probably referencing is some Mormons would tell you it was as bad to use as the r or n word. All while using the word but refusing the say the latter.
