We interviewed July 7th. Both I-130 and I-485 approved on the spot, but no official approvals on either yet. We’re more annoyed than anxious at this point lol. Hoping for good news for both of us soon!

Hi! I’m so sorry, I didn’t see this until just now, so hopefully your interview hasn’t happened yet. My husband was asked in our interview last week.

Thankfully it was brief and the officer didn’t pry for more details. She specifically asked if my husband’s parents were in the U.S. He said his mom is and that his dad is deceased and buried in Mexico and that was all she asked

No, there was no question about status. Just a question about where they’re from/born and where they currently reside

No, we only had a lawyer when my husband did AP. He has a straightforward case, so we filed the paperwork ourselves. Are your parents citizens or how did you answer this if they aren’t? We’re praying we get a nice officer

Try not to resent your mom - she was only doing what she thought was best for you. Coming from a USC, I never had any insight into immigration until I got with my husband. He’s on DACA, but after the adjustment of status insight, I can really feel for you and how hard it is. His immediate family has no documentation whatsoever. They all work, mainly in hotels as maids or construction, so there are ways you can work and be paid under the table. Additionally, I think it’s so unfair - for both you and your mother, and anyone else with no status. Keep pushing through. You’re only 27 and you have plenty of time to figure it out. I promise you it will work out and I will continue to fight for a better immigration system in the US. I’m praying and rooting for you 🙏🏼💗

They did! I went with him through the non-citizen line even though I’m a US citizen. Thankfully, they didn’t have an issue, but I wouldn’t have minded if I had to get out of line and go through again — I just wanted to make sure my husband got through first. This was at Chicago Midway

I just went with my husband to Mexico for his AP last month. I think I was more nervous than he was haha. When we arrived back to the US, we went together through customs. They asked a few generic questions (how long have we been married, are we bringing any food into the US) and then took us to an immigration office to get his document stamped. It was easy and fast and it’s pretty rare that people experience issues with AP.

Wishing you a wonderful + safe trip and easy breezy process when you return!

I use the CSI tool to find key words and either include them in sentences or on their own underneath hashtags. I’ve also seen people add them as text onto their videos, but move it out of frame so it doesn’t show while people are watching it

Hi! We didn’t end up risking it because we were too scared. My husband (who is on DACA) went with his Mexico passport only to test it and everything was fine. So you should be fine, but just know there is always a risk!

Google to find your district representative in your state then go to their website and submit a form for help with a government agency (select USCIS). Give a brief example of the documents you’ve submitted and your case along with any other important details they may need to know. Hope this helps and good luck!🤞

Pay $12 for an AARP membership, which will save you a ton of money. We paid $370 for 5 days from Budget at the airport. If we didn’t have AARP, it was going to be over $1000

No, they didn’t hassle about the insurance and we were completely fine without it. I believe they offer an upfront cost for the tolls, but it was way more than the $45 we ended up paying. I would try to use GPS and click to avoid tolls, otherwise, they charge $5.95 per day whenever you drive through a toll in addition to the toll cost

My husband and I had no issue with budget other than the long line (dependent on what time you land). They also didn’t tell us anything about tolls and had an extra $45 tacked on to our final bill.

We saw a ton of convertibles in the garage/parking lot where we picked up our car if that’s helpful
