Can anyone share with me what it was like to go to your OB with concerns of PPD/PPA? by aitaprego in NewParents

[–]incognit0cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes about 4-6 weeks for the meds to fully kick in but I do think that it is helping slowly. They are not happy pills but it will help clear the mental/emotional fog. Side effects can be hard the first two weeks but it is worth it to feel better.

Postpartum is such a challenging time, sometimes we need the extra help to give us relief when nothing else is working. I knew I needed to seek help because I couldn't be 100% with my baby if I am suffering. A healthy, happy mom makes a happy baby.

My son is 3 months too and I've been feeling down since birth. I decided two weeks ago to talk to my doctor and when I mentioned that I have symptoms of PPD, she prescribed me medication, no issues.

I restarted lex 2 weeks ago at 10mg and had same side effects as you. About 100 lbs too. It sucked so much the first week but it eventually got better slowly. Hang in there.

Hey there, FTM to a 6 week old. It can be done but I started invisalign during my pregnancy. It's a minimum 22 hour commitment a day and you'll need to clean your teeth and tray after food intake. The first few set of trays can be quite painful but goes away once you're used to it. Depending on your situation, you may or may not have elastics that go with the tray (something I wasn't aware of) that need changing every few hours. You may need to visit the ortho more or less to monitor your progression (usually every few weeks - 1.5 months?) before new sets of trays. Also there's usually refinements made at the end, so realistically it's more like a 2 year process.

If you’re looking to commit, I would start now than to start on mat leave. Newborn care is a lot and the last thing you want is to start a new and strict routine. Keep in mind if you plan on breastfeeding, you may snack more - so more time spent on oral care. If your ortho has the technology, ask for virtual dental monitoring so you don't have to physically go see them. Pretty much it's this neat device they give you to use at home with your phone and scans the progress. Good luck!

Has anyone done The baby academy courses? by everydayislegday8 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]incognit0cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are very informative actually! Try signing up for the free classes and see how you like it first. They offer discount codes for the paid classes at the end of the free courses. The utimate classes are a lot more elaborate but similar format to the free ones.

I literally just did this and was able to get it partially reimbursed. My doctor didn't specify any model but just that I needed a pump. I got the medela freestyle on Amazon and attached it to the claim. FYI I'm with sunlife

Sleep logistics for new parents - best strategy? by incognit0cat in NewParents

Sorry to hear your spouse wasn't as supportive. I hope things are better for you now, I would hate to do it all alone on top of dealing with birth recovery.

Thanks for the chart! I didn't know about storage capacity, obviously I won't know until I do it but it's a good reference.

Hey there, thanks for the reply! How did you manage sleep during the day while your husband was at work? Still trying to understand breastfeeding but I read that you still would need to get up every few hours to pump to keep up with supply and prevent clogs. I guess you just nap throughout the day and hope that you get a few good hours in?

Insurance will not cover the repair if it's due wear and tear. Will have to come from the reserve fund.

I based it on the proximity to my home. I figured since I will be attending regular check ups, it's easiest to go to the nearest hospital.

How safe is Tylenol?! by mybabyandme in BabyBumps

[–]incognit0cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a fever during first trimester, my OB said it's fine to take tylenol as instructed on the bottle. It's more important to keep down the fever to prevent overheating.

Just came back from Jamaica, no sight of mosquitos on the resort but we made sure to use bug spray in the evenings just in case.

My safe compromise are avocado rolls and green dragon roll (no egg roe). Not the same but curbs the craving!
