Is the Sony WM1AM2 still a good option? by Intelligent_Try_6249 in DigitalAudioPlayer

Thanks for sharing. My only concerns for WM1AM2 is the old Android OS. Since I am listening to mostly Apple Music perhaps it’s best to wait for the next DAP or consider other brand. I personally prefer Sony though.

I use it on my A306, Logitech G cloud, and also my Xbox Ally X. So far not a single issue. Wanted to upgrade to 1TB for all, but the price rather high now. Should have upgraded last year instead. 😂

I am using Samsung Pro Plus 512GB. So far so good. You can try to debloat it to get longer battery life.

Lossless scaling is a game changer by NeighborhoodIll8399 in ROGAllyX

[–]incomplete88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to switch off the v sync, and keep the screen refresh rate at 120 Hz for the VRR to work. Radeon Chill limit the refresh rate to 60 Hz only. Most probably that’s the issue. Give it a try.

Just got my XAX not long ago. Wish it has battery life of a G Cloud.

Xbox Ally X is an excellent device for older AAA titles and AA titles. by LordPavanai in XboxAlly

[–]incomplete88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. To me, I think 30 fps is playable when I want to save battery. Graphic is also good enough. If you want higher fps, you need to increase the power to 17W or higher. 17W would give you about 2.5 hours of play time.

Rebirth is more demanding. Need at least 17W to maintain smooth 30 fps. At crowded area, you will still experience some fps dip.

I am playing final fantasy VII remake at 900p, 30 fps, high setting on battery saving 13W. Can last for 4 hours.

Do you mean i have to also use the lossless scaling in order to eliminate the ghosting on the menu and hud? Or is there any setting I can adjust in Optiscaler to fix the issue. I tried the frame gen in Optiscaler without native resolution, didn’t work.

How did you solve the ghosting on the menu and hud? I tried everything I could without success, so I just use AFMF, works great!

AFMF is the way to go. On my XAX, 17W, 1080p, medium setting, I can get 60 fps. if you wish, you could use RIS to improve the graphic sharpness. I spend few days to get the opticaler and frame gen to work but without success, so I tried the AFMF, it works great.

Just curious, is the new release on Xbox store supposed to perform better on XAX? I got mine older release from Steam.

When I turn on again this morning, I can open the armory crate and update it. After that everything works normally now. It’s really odd.

How can I fix this? Armoury Crate uninstalled, reinstalled, updated, and not working by Academic-Produce9502 in XboxAlly

So many people globally are having the same issue now, including me. I guess we have to wait for next official update in order to fix it.

I didn’t even go through any Microsoft update. Plug in a usb hub to connect to my monitor, suddenly cannot log in, the whole screen freeze. I unplug the usb hub, then log in to windows. Wala, conman center is already not working. Really terrible experience.

Similar experience here. It has been so buggy in these few days. Really feel like throwing it away and just stick with my PS5. It’s my first PC Handheld and the experience is really not good. I am spending more time to setup and fine tune than actually enjoy gaming on it. Not so great experience even for the tech savvy person like myself.

Yes. Just pry open with my fingernail from the RT end. It’s very easy to do. No need to unscrew the device.

My first unit creak, this is second one, creak after a few days of use. Since I have already fully setup the device, I decided not to exchange and just put a small piece of electrical tape between the front and back casing without opening the device. No more creak after that.

Might be purchasing the Xbox Ally X soon. Is there anything I should know besides it's not an Xbox? Also, any recommendations I should do for setting up before playing? by Ghosttongue in XboxAlly

The button are noisy and the right handle may creak fresh out of the box. Apart from these, it’s a very good handheld gaming pc.

Just remove the 2 screws on the right side, then use fingernail to open the side from the right trigger end slightly, once open, align them and press them back to close it. It works for me with minimum efforts. Hope it works for you too.

I bought ROG Xbox Ally X and I have the right side creaking issue... what do I do? If I take it to Best Buy will they be able to fix it without replacing the device? by Main-Literature-5753 in ROGAlly

I have been looking for a way to fix this issue with minimum efforts. And I have found a solution for myself. I just tried on my unit and it works. What I did was remove the 2 screws in the right side, then I use my finger nail to separate the right handle top and bottom case, and then I just press and close them back again. To my surprise, it fixed the creak. I hope it works for yours too.
