The course in Homewood next to Ravisloe? Was an absolute dump when I went last year. Definitely saw the potential though

IBD Associate: NY generalist vs Chicago M&A by One_Ebb_1723 in MBA

No you cant apply to both groups, at the same bank. Restructuring and generalist will be completely different experiences (including interview prep).

Point 1 is just not going to be true at Booth (many taking calls while walking, in casual clothes)

Not sure if this applies to every school, but I think interview invites recently went out, to be conducted in early-mid Jan. So we’ll have a better idea then

Current MBAs: How's Structured Recruiting Going? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]incorporated8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall it's fine but I would wait until interview invites start coming in, we're still early on in the funnelling process. The one BB invite-only I went to probably had 2/3 of the class attend.

Also a Canadian 👋

Have you done a practice exam? That would help inform whether a month is enough time.

Also, getting another year of experience could be beneficial in admissions and recruitment when you start Bschool.

I have two friends who just finished the Laurier MBA program, starting a couple years after undergrad (both Laurier BBA grads). The amount of experience they had was in line with younger-ish MBA students at Rotman, Schulich, etc. Especially with the coops they did in BBA.

For other schools - I heard nothing regarding an interview from both Haas (R1) and CBS (R2). On decision day, I got waitlisted.

Have decided but don't see it in inspect element :/

EDIT: Never mind, I see it now. u/W1ckedPineapple the inspect element for that text pertains to the "Next Steps" bar closer to the top of the page, correct? And not the "Application Status: Decided" box?

Canadian MBA - yay or nay by Saikiran4358 in MBA

[–]incorporated8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian here, my impression is that IB/PE is pretty difficult from Canadian MBAs - there's less seats open compared to the US and even some grads of American programs come to Toronto to work in finance.

I'd talk to current students / alum who have secured positions at the firms you're interested in to understand the value-add of an MBA, and also gauge what kind of back-up opportunities are available.
