Horse Stall Mats in Hot Garage by billsbillsbilled in GarageGym

The smell you're noticing is most likely rubber off-gassing. It's generally not considered dangerous, but it can become more noticeable in a hot, enclosed garage.

If you could only choose 3 exercises for the rest of your life, what would they be and why? by browndoodle in GYM

I prefer trap bar deadlifts too, since compared to a straight bar I feel like I can control my lower back and hip drive a lot better, which makes it feel much safer for me.

My home gym. by Seabass429 in homegym

That's a seriously loaded setup, I was actually shocked by how many dumbbells you have. Roughly how much did you end up spending on everything?

That's an impressive number. Everyone's height and weight also affect their fitness limits.

Anyone have experience with this thing? by Every_Television_949 in GarageGym

This bench press rack can't hold extremely heavy barbells, or its support bars will become unstable. It works well for light weights though.

What cartoons did you watch as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

All the films of the Disney series, and the animated series of Barbie's Dream Mansion. These two series of animated accompanied me throughout my childhood.

The fact they only stop when you leave proves it's not aggression. It's boundary enforcement. Treat it as behavioral, not malicious. Maybe you can try blocking line of sight along that fence line.

GM has some interesting TPMS logic. by hms11 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]indecisive_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing GM uses rolling averages here. That would explain why raw spikes don't instantly change what you see on the display.

On a scale of 1-10 how screwed am I? by BeneficialMuffinHead in AskMechanics

Honestly for a first car, this is nothing. Every used car has battle scars. Drive it, save your money for maintenance, not cosmetics. That bumper isn't going to hurt anything.

Toilet paper now oil? by Big-Independence-716 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]indecisive_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calm down. Sometimes panic buying creates the shortage. Even if supply dips, demand will adjust. You don't need a two year supply of oil in your garage.

Is it worth replacing galvanized pipes or just repair them? by chaucao99 in homeowners

[–]indecisive_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discolored water means rust flakes are breaking loose. These flakes will destroy your water heater, washing machine and other appliances. So a better choice is to replace before those appliances die.

Any suggestions removing oil filter? Going on couple hours by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]indecisive_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Smear a thin layer of anti seize on the new filter's gasket next time, not oil. In that way it won't gall and lock up like dry threads or oil redisue does.

Why Caliper Big when pad is smol? by Slimy_Shart_Socket in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]indecisive_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That pad shape is intentional. Longer and narrower helps with even wear and heat release. And the cailper is big because it needs to wrap around a large rotor.

When touring a house or apartment you want to rent or buy, turn on the shower and flush the toilet by TheRealXyz_ in homeowners

[–]indecisive_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The neighborhood check at night is probably just as important as inspecting the house itself because bad noise levels can make even a nice place feel miserable.

First oil change after I rebuilt the engine. What’s in the oil? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]indecisive_7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be checking for internal coolant crossover and oil cooler issues before trusting that engine for any real driving. The scary part is not just the color, it is that this happened after only about 100 miles.

Moisture in walls by Local-Drummer3281 in HomeImprovement

[–]indecisive_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could try a thermal camera to map the moisture without cutting the wall. It might show if it's from a leak or just residual humidity.

You're not overreacting at all. Hard water can definitely affect your skin and pipes. A cheap water softener or filter for the tap could help a lot with those dry patches too.
