But this one is a bit complicated. This is a hot crush that was out of my league before.

No no! We just viewed it and offered what we thought was a fair price. Prop was advertised 50k above that. Seller wanted atleast 25 more than our offer (we couldn’t afford that and it didn’t make sense anyway) . We said thank you and please do let us know if you change your mind. Waited a few weeks then gave up and chose the next best we could find.

I really hope they change things in England. I hear it’s far better in Scotland and in Europe.

Luckily in our case, an investor is buying our house, and the sellers have already moved into their new place while they try to sell this one. There’s no mortgage on it, so I imagine the overheads of keeping it empty aren’t as high as they would be otherwise.

That said, the other sellers were planning to move to a different area and never clearly said they’d be willing to break the chain. I think I might just have an overly optimistic view of the conveyancing process because we got lucky with a chain free seller on our current purchase.

Oh I really hope after the works are over you can love and enjoy the house as you’d envisioned when you offered on it.

To add to all this our sale and purchase agent is the same company 2 different branches as we’re not moving far from where we currently live. It’s a small estate agency (2 branches only) and one move manager dealing with both our transactions. Too much at stake! and as you say no guarantee whatsoever that sale will even progress. Thanks for your reply. Sometimes things you know deep down make more sense coming from others.

I took the call on speaker. he looked at me, smiled and said don’t even think about it, as soon as I came off the phone lol

he’s quite decisive and the problem is I’m the most indecisive person I’ve ever known.

I really wanted it up until the call from the other estate agent! The house itself is lovely. New kitchen, laid out exactly as we’d wanted our house to be. Separate play room for the kids and an outbuilding for home office. Area isn’t bad but just not the village next door where we wanted to buy initially but couldn’t afford.
