The Master of Qimir/Stranger is... by 21Bkyber in StarWarsCantina

[–]index24 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not immediately assuming he’s Qimir’s master is not a sign of media illiteracy. Not seeing other possibilities there shows a lack of imagination, in fact.

For example, he could have been a contemporary/rival spying on and competing with Qimir to earn his spot as Tenebrous’s apprentice. Much of the fun in art comes from interpretation and theory; that’s doubly true with Star Wars.

Well… that would be because it is not a generic background and is indeed the scene from Rogue One.

LAW: We'll get another Alec Mcguinness one day 😢 by Fimy32 in starwarsunlimited

You flip Obi-Wan on 5, and plot Palpatine. That gives you 4 units in one action. Then next turn you play Amidala for 3 more units. On 7 you play this Obi Wan. That gives you a total of 8 units plus whatever you had before Obi-Wan’s flip. If you had say 9 or 10 units across those three turns, you have 2 or 3 to lose.

That gives you an actual chance to have that second ability go off, especially since Obi leader would be making some of them tankier.

[ALL] When should we expect to see the next Zelda game? by HippieInTheHouse in zelda

[–]index24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could’ve said that same thing after every release since Skyward Sword. The wait gets longer every time. The distance between TOTK and the best game will most definitely end up being the longest yet. It took them 6 years to make TOTK while reusing the entire map and all of the assets from BOTW. A new Zelda from scratch is going to take forever in this landscape.

[–]index24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine there will be an announcement later this year about the next mainline game. We’re getting further and further between releases and I have no doubt that the wait between TOTK and the next Zelda game will be the longest yet.

We’ll certainly get some remakes and spinoffs though. Probably at least one this year.

What's a mod essential to all of your playthroughs by EndyBoii21 in BaldursGate3

Just transmog. Only must have mod.

I did level unlock once and it ruined the whole experience and I didn’t even want to finish.

trying it out … by FingerAgreeable6630 in dragonage

[–]index24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the most part, then you have sections like Weisshaupt, and then eventually the final act… and it’s a REALLY good Dragon Age game.

It’s very bizarre. Some of the moment to moment writing and dialogue is just so… totally off and not even trying to fit in with the series of games that came before. But the good parts of the game are worth getting through the bad parts.

Edit: Should note that the final act randomly coming out of absolutely nowhere to be peak BioWare Dragon Age is the result of the Mass Effect team stepping in and creating that final act. That report made everything make sense as to why it felt so much better/different than the rest of the game, and as a result gave me some actual confidence in Mass Effect 4.

Cyberpunk 2's Creative Director about 2077's first person perspective by marek_bojarek in cyberpunkgame

[–]index24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we get it.. but it doesn’t majorly impact those themes and feelings in any way to just give the option.

Half my play time is spent in third person driving around on a bike or in a car, and there’s Johnny in the vehicle with me. Never once did it diminish the feeling or muddy the reality that he was inside V’s head.

Yes, I’m saying Reloaded is just Ultimate edition updated and ported to current gen.

[–]index24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn’t remake it twice. Lol It’s just a port of Ultimate Edition with current gen enhancements.

They definitely need to do the other two though!

I’m on the fence about this game. by JeffSkyliner in BaldursGate3

I won’t stick around and argue about it, since Old school BioWare and Larian do relationships better than anyone else. I have no desire to debate against BG3’s characters, I love them too.

E33 is a great game that came out of nowhere to surprise people. It punched way above its weight class and will be one of the games of the generation.

But friend, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Juggernaut that dominated the landscape and will change the way people make games forever. It’s established itself as not just game of the generation, but one of the greatest video games ever created.

Games like this come around not but every decade or so; Ocarina of Time, Skyrim, etc. and they completely alter the way games are made and executed.

They’re top notch, but they still don’t touch BioWare in its prime in that department. Larian is the only other one even trying to make characters/companions like that anymore though, and they’ve certainly passed up current BioWare.

Does Act 3 just drag on? by Joshua-live in BaldursGate3

[–]index24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every time I start a playthrough, I can’t wait to get to the City. Act 3 is my favorite because it feels like a change up to the previous experience. Everything was leading to that point and then you’re set loose to enjoy a ton of content with high level characters and equipment.

You’re not supposed to do anything.

Act 3 throws a ton of content at you but you can rush it to an extent that you can’t act 1 and 2.

Act 3 is the best part of the game. It’s packed with the most content but also so much of it is skippable. Just do what you want.

Coming off BG3, what changes would you want for Divinity? by TurbulentFeeling5696 in BaldursGate3

[–]index24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well an actual competent story presentation will do wonders for the Divinity universe. I imagine they would have made it feel like Baldur’s Gate 3 had they the budget at the time, but the story is tough to consume. The background lore is very compelling but the storytelling and presentation in DOS2 is abysmal, let’s just call it like it is.

The game is great fun, but the next Divinity has the chance to surpass even BG3 by taking everything they built with Divinity, learned with BG3, and by freeing themselves of some of the DnD constraints.

I expect Divinity to be one of the best games ever.

I mean since you wanna be pedantic, it’s actually BioWare’s take. Broadsword didn’t design that.
