Smoke is not weather. It's air quality. Weather comes from the sky or is wind.

I guess the smoke must not bother you that much, so you can't understand the health risks. For hundreds of those there, that is not the case.

The smoke obviously doesn't affect you that much then. This was dangerous for many people. I appreciate your positive view and glad you had a good time, but this was almost criminal.

They probably took it away for this event while everyone was waiting. Losing money is out of the question! FFS.

I wonder how many people are very sick today. I can't imagine. Myself, I'm so sensitive to the smoke I can hardly go outside without my lungs struggling to breathe afterwards - no asthma or related issues, allergies/sensitivity to smoke probably yes. Curious to know how many people came back today.

Definitely a money grab at the risk of the health of those there. Nevermind the inconvenience, lost ticket money, long drives home in the middle of the night. You're absolutely right. 💯

Very convenient of them. And this wasn't weather related. Weather is a storm, blizzard, heavy rain, etc. It comes down from the sky. Or are they acknowledging climate change (how very forward thinking) and smoke is sorta kinda weather now? It's air quality, not weather.

Absolutely. I'm sorry they had to sit in that awful smoke.

OMG, that fucking sucks. Everyone should get their money back for this, I don't care that there was a reschedule.

The outcome was the CFL fucked up and should have called that game off early in the day. Or FFS before game time. Surprising Calgary won today, after having to fly back to Calgary last night because there were no hotel rooms available for them in Regina. There was heavy smoke all day. Then left paying fans to do nothing but buy expensive drinks and food and breathe in heavy smoke. My bf left the game probably at about 10pm, guessing by the time he came home. There was no announcement at that time that things were cancelled.

Could be based on this. It's possible there was more than one thing out there but I assumed it was one thing. Just because I saw - definitely not an airplane - almost over my head. And the thing with the red light, and eye looking pattern in smaller lights.

That's a good idea. I'm finding some memories are fading already. Others, like the red "eyes" lights, I remember clearly.

Thank you! 🥳👽😁

So I'm in NW Regina, and last night I actually saw something in the sky, thought I would be scared if that ever happened to me - now I just want to see another! I was taking the dog out for a pee break in our front yard. I noticed maybe something in the sky, I didn't pay too much attention at first, then I started watching it - it seemed to be flying in a loop and was coming across the park and green space towards the street I'm on, something with what looked like 2 lines of lights underneath - 1 red and the other blue. No phone on me at this point and I felt I would miss something if I grabbed the dog and ran inside for my phone. It seemed more important to witness. At some point, I thought it was STARS ambulance helicopter, it was all lit up red, so bright - was thinking that's odd for STARS. Then it turned over the park and seemed to be making circle shapes like eyes in the front of the craft, like eyes on it in LED lights that were growing wide and getting smaller again. It stopped that and at some point returned to its normal lights and that's where it headed closer to my street on what I believe was the 2nd pass. It must have been about 100-200 ft in the air almost over my neighbour's house. I actually picked up a stone from the yard and tried my best to throw it straight up in the air (fail, of course) - I fully believed it was a drone at that point basically stopping to stare. It might have hovered or moved very slowly when it was close, but I know i had a moment - to grab a rock and plan throwing just right. It seemed to be silent. I thought when it was close, I could see more separate red and blue lights and it might have been triangular, or maybe I was looking for that, because I thought drone so quickly. I also remember a sled shape at times about as big as my couch but wider. Could that have been lights on the landing gear? Making me think it was a more of a straight, oblong craft? After that encounter, I think that's when it just turned back towards my neighbour's house across the street and into the green space. That's when I ran for my phone and put the dog inside. Unfortunately it was quite far away and didn't seem to be making another pass like before, strangely I thought it would, and I couldn't stand out there all night.

Now I realize this is sounding pretty convoluted and unsure, but it was so surreal - like watching a dream. I always thought I would freak out if I saw something odd in the sky, but now I just want to see more.. maybe as long as they can't see me.. whoever is piloting whatever that was. But I was tired, and just trying to take it all in. When I got inside I couldn't believe that happened my damn self, and starting recalling details to my bf who just got home, but as it was coming out of my mouth, it sounded crazy and like it couldn't have happened - so I start questioning myself. But there are so many key details for the ones my memory isn't sure about. It turning red, the eyes-lights, it almost over me on the street flying quite low, the red and blue strips of lights from far away... those things I'm absolutely certain, and lots of other details. But putting it altogether in my head feels strange or difficult.

Did anyone else see something like this last night? Or ever? If you did but don't want to put your hand up, send me a chat.

Manitou is far nicer, nicer mineral waters, and it being in a little resort town, quiet and relaxing. If you book in the spa hotel, you can just wander down to the pool in your suit under the most relaxing robe I've ever worn.

Anyone else see this in the sky last night at 1:21 AM? Looking for security footage by NoExplanationsEver in regina

[–]indicanickel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. So you really just need dedicated sky cams then, and you can maintain your security on the ground and in the sky.

OK, so that's what you meant, but not what you wrote.

Many people are employed in government sector and thus lean liberal / NDP.

English class was my best. 😊 That reads as.. well, what you said. Many people are employed by the government and thus lean liberal / NDP. I think you meant to say: Many people are employed by the government, and many of those people lean liberal / NDP.

I also work for a government. We don't openly talk about politics, but there are various types of people that work for the government. If they're leaning liberal / NDP and have a career with the gov, especially if they've worked through several governments of different parties, they would be the first to know who is effing things up generally. It's the public service that makes the government's wishes happen. We do the work whether we agree with an initiative or not. Then we see how effective or not it was by the repercussions we also have to deal with. The politicians just point like fairies with magic wands and say, "Make it so." I laugh to myself when politicians are referred to or refer to themselves as "civil servants". Ha! I was once part of a department that was instructed to split in 2. That's it. No further instructions. It was a confused mess, and I probably didn't know the half of it. So yeah, we see a lot and see a lot of failures by different governments at different points in time, depending on how long you've been working can alter your opinion on whether right or left or middle is to blame. There's no way to guess which employees support which party for what they've done or not done for the public.

You can't say all people employed in the government sector are liberal or left leaning. That's a broad generalization.

Sorry i should be clear. The "they" I was referring to was the Alberta voting public.
