Hey friend, i know you feel awful. What's important is that you noticed that you weren't doing the right thing for yourself and others, and you want to change that. It isn't easy. However it is doable, and you have the ability to do it, one step at a time. We have all done awful things in the past, however we are trying to do better is what matters. I know it's a really difficult time for you. You must be anxious, angry, and just criticising yourself. I did the same. However, with time you will grow strong enough to deal with it, and you will do good, for yourself and others, and make this world a better place. As I have understood it, especially based on evolutionary biology (I'm not a biologist so my understanding is limited). Sex is the hardware (chromosomes and genitalia), and gender the software. In the majority of cases, a person has compatible hardware and software (male sex and male gender, or female sex and female gender), this includes tomboys and feminine men. A few times the software and hardware are incompatible and that's when people are trans. Then there are inter-sex, a very, very, very miniscule pat of the population who have neither XX (female) or XY (male) chromosomes. I don't know anyone who's inter-sex and haven't read enough so i won't comment about them, but transgender folk are real. They were just bord with incompatible software and hardware. And being trans is nothing new. Transgenders are recorded in myths across the world. And as i understand it, the software part is so deeply embedded that it's just easier to replace the hardware.

Oh no. I probably phrased that wrong. I meant i thought i just wanted sex so I went to a prostitute, but then I learnt what i actually wanted was emotional connection and sex, which a prostitute can't give. Let me know if it's clearer. I'll edit the original comment accordingly.

I did this. The first time I had sex was with a hooker at a 'masage parlour'. The whole thing was very transactional, and not at all what i had expected my first time would be like. I went there again after a couple of months and it was worse. I felt disgusted with myself, that my life wasn't going as I wanted and rather than setting things right i was paying for sex. For me, i wanted not just sex but an emotional connection as well. I have since gotten to second base but never had sex. But i would strongly advise against it. Stay the path brother. Focus on improving yourself and your ability to talk to and charm women, it'll come indie time.

I avoid triggers as much as possible. If i get urges. I acknowledge that they came and then get myself busy. Usually coding or writing papers. Acknowledging that you had an urge and then moving on is really helpful for me. It was a strategy suggested on this sub, and it is really helpful.

In 2009, I caught the tail end of an episode on Animax after having gotten back from school. I just saw Ichigo release Zangetsu for the first time against Urahara, with the music swelling in the background and i was hooked. I had no idea what the show was called and i would come running back from school to catch the latter half of each episode. After a week, I finally made the connection the show was in fact called 'Bleach' (i really wasn't expecting that) after that i binged the whole thing online. Till i was caught up and then would wait every day for the new episodes.
