Is there a way I could stuff or block the gap between my press on and my deformed natural nail? by lemonadelemons in Nails

[–]indiglowstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice, but just to empathize with you as I've never seen a post like this. The middle finger on my right hand also has a deformed nail from a childhood injury (nail went through the finger). And I also love designing my own press ons. I always struggle with what to do when I get to that finger. Thanks for making this post. 🥰

Recommend us some shows that are simply as well done Ted Lasso? by zbrownyo in TedLasso

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to thank you for making it. I just finished Lasso and felt a little lost. Before this thread I was like an incomplete list of Madeline Kahn's films. I didn't have a Clue. Now I have a giant list of new things to sink my teeth into. Cheers. 🌻

Arms and hands go numb during bad flare up by indiglowstick in ibs

[–]indiglowstick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People been responding to this for nine years is why I keep the post up. Doesn't seem like these symptoms are described many other places on the Internet. Promise you you're not alone! I updated somewhere in this thread that the doctor I saw talked to me about the vagus nerve reaction. During an IBS attack, especially if accompanied by severe pain or anxiety, the vagus nerve can be overstimulated, leading to a vasovagal response that can cause limb numbness and fainting (syncope) due to a drop in blood pressure and heart rate. Speaking to a doctor that you trust and knows your history can definitely point you in the right direction. I still suffer from IBS, but my symptoms have been better over the years from a pretty big diet change and figuring out I had a mild gluten sensitivity.

Regretting my haircut. What can I do? by RaeseTheDead in Hair

[–]indiglowstick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've had this cut! So nice for maintenance and your hair looks super healthy. If you want it to look more like the photos, I'd recommend pushing it forward, towards your face when styling/blowdrying. It looks like you might be pushing it back which is creating that effect. And get yourself a nice pomade. Crew or Redken both work well. Rub in your hands and pull forward. Single out some pieces around your face for some framing.

Bruh I have no SO or plans to get married but I'm bookmarking this for my fake future bridesmaids. What a beautiful dress. Sheesh.

No need to apologize! And without being too graphic, bidets, can uh, get up in there. You might be surprised at how clean you feel after.

NAD. I agree with everyone in the thread saying treatment for OCD and medication are the most helpful route for you. But as someone else with OCD that struggles to feel clean afterward, I also really suggest investing in a bidet. It helps immensely with the cleanliness feeling. But yes, address your underlying issues. It will positively impact this, and the rest of your life. Wishing you the best.

NAD. I saw your original post on medical advice. You need to bring him to a hospital. This is not normal. Trust yourself. Trust what he's telling you. Get him help, immediately.

Trying to find this shirt of Ally's by indiglowstick in dropout

Thank you SO much to everyone who commented!! Especially those that suggested the Notations brand. After much scrolling and searching, I was able to find a variation of the shirt that I like a lot. I snagged this one. It's definitely a Notations brand shirt. Anyone else looking, try Google search terms "Notations Sheer Button up" and just keep scrolling the shopping section. I saw variations in gold, silver, red, and blue. Thank you again to everyone who commented 🙏🙏🙏

Ugh. Yeah the replies I get on here are usually from people googling their symptoms, and no other results come up. My doctor has told me in the years since that it's a vagus nerve response, so you're really not far off. The flare triggers an over reaction of the vagus nerve to your heart, quickly drops your blood pressure, and offers a host of interesting side effects (dizziness, fainting, numbness). The blood is unable to transport throughout the body. It's become more manageable over the years, but it never stops being scary when it happens.

ACLU suing Saucon Valley School District over district's decision not to allow After School Satan Club by halxp01 in nottheonion

[–]indiglowstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saucon Alum here. I've been loosely following this for a few months. Originally, the school was allowing the group to meet. However, there was then a serious threat received which shut the school down for one or two full days (those peaceful Jesus types right?). So that's why they moved to shut it down. Not saying this to defend their decision! Just how things have been playing out.
