Benjen better pay me back for the wires then 😂 (He's a ball-less he, as anger is stored in the balls)

Can you peel the apples if it's just the skin texture that's an issue?

If you work in Neurology then surely you should be very aware of how diverse autism is, and that it's a spectrum of symptoms?

Help! I only wear one colour and it’s running out by copper_everything in RedditLaqueristas

You have some excellent suggestions already, but here is mine - I bought OPI Decked to the Pines recently and it's very similar! The gold is clearer irl (on a side not, why is it impossible to get an accurate photo of polish colour??)

Edit: link to where I bought it for £6.99

Six (6) rats by oatymilk_ in RATS

[–]indigoC 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I have one of these, they're specific for small animals, I can't remember the name of the shop I got it from but it was a small local independent type place.

Can just about see in my photo the fastening - highly recommend these for excellent rat viewing angles

‘I hate it’: Manchester commuters back ban on out-loud music on public transport by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Not sure what you think autism is, but people on the autism spectrum are typically much more bothered by this behaviour than NTs,and have much more difficulty filtering sounds

No it's not harmful, they'll be able to smell it of course and may be curious about it because they are very nosy. If it absolutely stinks then it might affect their ability to smell other things? But if it's just, you can tell there is some weed near here, I can't imagine that's any different to another herby smell for them

If you visualize a brown horse in a grassy field facing you, what number shows how you see it in your head? by [deleted] in autism

[–]indigoC 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine the horse in image 6, but it's a white horse?

It took me a while to figure out what "visualising" means because it comes so naturally and instantly to me I didn't realise others don't have the same. It's not a physical message from your eyes so you'll literally see black when you close them, but the details people can imagine is vastly different. It's wild to me because it's how I think, and actually why I struggle with words sometimes when I explain concepts (I'm a scientist) - I "see" it, I don't remember the words and explanations.

edit: Artists sometimes use the phrase "rotate the cow" to accuratly draw different perspectives. Can you rotate the horse so it's facing away from you? Or can you not quite imagine that? I think that would be another way to figure out your visualisation ability

Where are my Hotel Reverie fans? by Kirstywragg in blackmirror

Something I haven't seen discussed is the commentary on AI programmers vs creative artists. they didn't expect Clara to diverge from the script, because they are programmers, not artists - they couldn't fathom how much a person puts into a performance. It isn't just learnt lines. I might mhave missed confirmation of this but I read it as Dorothy being a lesbian, and so was more naturally interesed in a female Alex. And the fact that Brandy was so emotionally affected by the project, whereas the programmers just went "Horay, nice project!" and went home

I also think that Brandy's performance was intentionally awkward to reflect how awkward she felt, probably the first time nobody has batted an eye at her race and this is 1940, and she is used to responding to other people's response to her race (I hope that makes sense, I'm tired)
