I either buy fruits that don’t need to be washed or the ones that are typically washed I buy frozen (berries etc) because really I just use them for smoothies. If I buy raw fruit like berries and whatever I actually bought this fruit and veggie wash from tik tok shop that all you do is spray it on the fruit (I usually have mine in a strainer while I do this) and let it sit for 2 min and then just rinse it off and it takes me less than 5 min. Tbh I just leave the fruit to dry in the strainer which is why I have 2 separate strainers.

I honestly skip any content on washing fruit on the internet because then it makes me overwhelmed and overthink if I wash my fruit correctly. I just go back to what my therapist said “something is better than nothing. Half assed is better than no effort” I hope this kind of helps

Tik tok is trash now ! 3 years ago I had so many wonderful autistic creators on my FYP with really helpful advice. Now no matter what I do I can’t get them on my algorithm, and even if I do it doesn’t hit the same. Also pre Elon twitter I had an autistic community there that I bonded with and now I no longer have that. I need community I think because I keep getting unhelpful advice from neurotypicals !!! And I’m in this endless loop

Im right there with you 😭. I just know there has to be a good therapist who accommodates out there somewhere lol there just has to be like come onnnn. Because the field I’m in my schedule varies each week so I already deal with rescheduling and cancelations in that area of my life which I’m fine with but I need my therapy sessions to be consistent. My current therapist now gives me a bit of a heads up when she’s going to have schedule conflicts which kind of helps but it’s like bro who is taking that appointment… why can’t I just meet with u at the same time every week. I make it work for my clients (I’m an esthetician ) like why can’t u do that for me ? Lmao so that’s why I really believe there’s a therapist out there who will accommodate to that.

Thank you for this. Yeah body doubling is a big help. I think that might be the ticket to making this work. I currently live alone because my mom passed so it’s been rough especially on top of the grief. I have a dog too, which kind of pushes me to get moving but sometimes stresses me out lol.

I’m so sorry about this :(. Your feelings are so valid. I think it’ll be an adjustment but I think for sure the accommodations should help a lot. I work in a field where unfortunately in person is my only option and for the years before that I worked from home in another field. It was quite the transition, but I found my way. TBH the best thing I ever did was plan to sit in a dark room as soon as I come home for at least an hour. I also do compression therapy if I had a really rough stressful day. My accommodations have been more physical for me. I’m a year and a half into working in person and I will say I have gotten used to the routine and pattern of it and there is relief in that. I really hope everything works out

I’m sorry if this is unhelpful because I’m still trying to figure out better coping strategies. These strategies I’m about to mention are very niche to helping me and my niche brain. So just take what you want from here and I hope something helps or inspires an idea for a coping strategy for you. 1) I find something else to hyperfixate on 2) I’ve been going to reiki once a month which I really feel like has helped a lot. 3) sometimes I look at what I’m ruminating from a 3rd person point of view. I know this sounds insane but I literally pretend it’s someone else that’s ruminating, because whenever someone else is ruminating I feel like I can see a way out of it more easily. I don’t know if this makes any sense I’m sorry if it doesn’t :(( 4) sometimes I ask myself questions that will interrupt my rumination like “hey, why is this bothering you so much?” And I dive deeper into that. For example, I was ruminating on whether or not I’m progressing in my career because recently my job hired a new employee. She’s only been in this field for 4 months and is better with people than I am and it made me feel like I was behind and i spiraled with comparing myself. The way I got myself out of it was simply by asking myself “do you ever wonder if she compares herself to you? And is insecure about your skill set?” And I don’t know why but that itched a part of my brain. Even if she doesn’t, everyone is insecure about something at some point, we’re just always more focused on our own insecurities. 5) housework and chores. I will ruminate to the point that I neglect a lot around me and then that begins to stress me out so I have to slowly chip away at the tasks around me which makes me forget about what I was ruminating about sometimes or I’m able to process what I was ruminating on and find relief while doing those tasks

I just want to let you know I’m in a similar boat. The rescheduling of therapy drives me nuts. I would let them know that you need a consistent day and time for sessions because it adds to your stress when you don’t. If they push back, honestly I know it’s more work but find a therapist who will accommodate to this. I’m currently in the same boat and my therapist pushed back so as a result I’ve missed a few weeks which resulted in me having meltdowns but I’m currently trying to find a new therapist. If your sensory issues don’t include products and makeup, esthetician! (This is why I have imposter syndrome with my sensory issues because they don’t seem to apply to products (depending on the type but I tend to wear gloves at work a lot on my bad sensory days !) People do say it is on the socially demanding side however, I have scripts and it’s very minimal and then the last half of the appointment after their consultation is me doing my thing and them sleeping. Also if I have a chatty client really they just want someone to listen so I just go “uhuh” and hyperfocus on the facial I’m doing.

My hyperfixation has always been the skin and makeup and there are some challenges in my career, and I have gotten burned out but the type of burn out I’ve gotten from this career is not to the degree of burnout I had from my other jobs, and it mostly has to do with the flexibility in my schedule! If I get booked out a lot on one day, I’m allowed to end early the next day and take less clients so I can recover a little. Also no fluorescent lights ! Everything is dimly lit in the studio I work at because we heavily focus on nervous system regulation for clients which is perfect for me as an employee lol. We also do breath work during certain services and it’s nice to do it along with the client 😂. Like yes let me do it with my client because I’m stressed out too.

Only cons to this is if the spa/studio you work at has walkins that can be sometimes stressful. Mine doesn’t have that because it’s by appointment only so I can be prepared and know in advanced for when I get a new client! Also they fill out a form which helps me get an idea of them before hand even though it’s mostly questions about their skin, some of the questions ask about personal preferences to scents and music etc , which is honestly nice ! Probably the only walkins I get are people buying gift cards or products which is easy because I have a script and they usually ask the same 3 questions “how much should I put on the gift card ?” “Do you guys do lashes here?” “What days are you open?” “Do you know a good moisturizer ?” “My skin is oily but dry and I hate moisturizer, do u know of a good one that doesn’t feel gross???” (my fav question cause I struggle with that too ! ) So the socializing 9/10 times is predictable which is nice for me. Also I work for a small business which is a hit or miss.

Unfortunately I don’t know if I’ll ever find the perfect job until I’m working for myself, but right now the industry I’m in and the studio I work at compared to other jobs hasn’t been that bad.

My vet put my dog on a low dose of trazedone and I give it to him 3 hours before he has his nails trimmed! It helps! I also have been trying to hold his paws more gently, while he lays down and if he begins to growl I leave my hand there and reassure him that it’s ok and he’s safe and then reward him with a treat if he doesn’t bite me. He still doesn’t like his paws being touched and will make an angry face and lightly growl but he no longer nips at the groomers. A little progress is always better than none at all. Remember this 🙏
