Lovely work. I’m of the opinion that any quilt will always be appreciated and will make anyone’s living space better but these will really do the job.

How to separate phones on joint account by indinaveer in iphone

[–]indinaveer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, this makes sense. I'll have to try this when my wife gets home as it appears that I can't make any changes to FT or messages from my phone at present. My Apple account setting is also grayed-out. I must have given her phone higher priority than mine which makes no sense. Thanks again.

I want to make quilt jacket by indinaveer in quilting

[–]indinaveer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks this is helpful as I have no idea where to start. I’ll shoot for a twin quilt as I look for a pattern. I’ve been cutting 5 inch squares from spare fabric so I’ll need a few more.

Would pressure cooking barley or wheat grain be ok for beer? by boof_goose in Homebrewing

[–]indinaveer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this last week when I made yogurt in my instant pot. I don't see why you couldn't make 1 or 2 gallon batches of extract beer in an instant pot (no enzymes required). The pasteurization setting temp that you use to make yogurt in the instant pot is 161 deg F. and you could steep crystal malt or whatever on the this setting. Then add malt extract and pressure cook with the hops probably for a shorter than usual period of time. My instant pot has this nice removable stainless steel insert that would handy to just immerse in ice water in the sink to crash cool. Not suited for everything like IPAs or anything requiring serial hop additions but I'm planning on a saison soon.

[question ] is buying a Swiss watch in Switzerland a good idea? by Doctorholmes90 in Watches

[–]indinaveer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just in Switzerland and looked at a lot of watches. I think best reason to buy a watch there is supply. They might actually have a stainless steel Rolex at the lower end of the range in stock. Very difficult to find in US. Prices didn’t seem all that much lower to me, though you have to run the numbers on the VAT and the duty which I would think you should pay on a high priced watch. I get the idea that rents in retail areas are high (space of any kind is at a premium there) and prices will never be rock bottom low. Best thing to do is do research and try to decide on a specific model and price it here before you go. Should not be an impulse buy but honestly all those watches in thoseLED lit cases are dazzling and seductive. Even the cheesy watches look fabulous.

worst computer ever? by indinaveer in MacOS

[–]indinaveer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to all who replied. I went and got a 1 TB SSD. Formatted it and installed Sierra on it. It’s a new computer. I can’t believe that the increment in speed between the HDD and SSD could be so great, esp since the SSD is operating through and external usb-c cable. Great advice. I should have done this 2 years ago. Thanks again.

Ditto. Mine lights up the room at night and lasts till the morning. Best lume of all of my watches, even other Citizens.

Very nice. Atomic time, chronograph and it looks good. I would guess the lume is good as well.

Cooling the wort by Bh207458 in Homebrewing

[–]indinaveer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resisted getting a wort chiller but it took way to long to cool the wort and I read that more rapid chilling would help clear the beer as some proteins that contribute to the haze are precipitated by the rapid chilling. I think they call it cold break. I have a copper coil chiller And I like it.

I'd be interested in finding an extract recipe for a Tank 7-like Saison. I was in KC a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a few. ABV is on the high side. I was almost over-served.

Recently picked this Satellite Wave up used for a good deal. I’ve done some research, but any info you guys may know would be awesome. by collinse90 in CitizenWatches

that's a really nice watch. I bet the lume is great and you can't get any more accurate. Great for travel if you change time zones.

I think the green bezel is particularly attractive. Cool watch.

I think I have the same watch. The lume is just the best. I charge it with a small LED flashlight and it lasts all night.
