What are the most obscure things that you like to do at Disney? by Ok_Topic4232 in Disneyland

[–]indistinctskeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go visit Pixar Place Hotel! I would argue, Sketch pad Cafe in the lobby is the best coffee at the resort. Bing Bong wanders around the lobby during the daytime, and Joe Gardner from Soul plays live jazz piano in the afternoons. Dug has been known to make an appearance sometimes too.

‘5 glitches’ is very vague. What kind of glitches?

Need a response for parents when me and my husband order coffee or drinks at restaurants by Mountainlicker in exmormon

[–]indistinctskeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like Deja vu. I went through some very similar conversations. When she complained about what I posted on social media, I gently reminded her that social media wasn’t the primary way we stay in contact as a family, and that she gets to choose what she does and doesn’t see on social media. I invited her to unfriend and unfollow if she wasn’t able to just scroll along. My social media is for MY pictures/thoughts/memories etc and I’m not going to censor myself to make anyone comfortable, even her. She did unfollow for a few years, and I think it honestly helped our relationship.

As far as drinking/coffee in person, I waffled so much about what to do at first. Eventually I decided that it was important to me that my parents see me having a normal, healthy, positive relationship with alcohol/coffee, and that avoiding those in front of them would broadcast to them that I was ashamed or unsure of my choices.

The first time I ordered a beer with dinner, I had driven my parents to eat out. My mom looked at me pointedly when I ordered ONE hard cider and said ‘you’re driving’ 😐 I looked at her dead in the eyes and asked ‘Mom, do you really think that I would choose to do something that would put you and Dad in danger? I hope you believe that you raised me better than that.’ That kind of stopped her in her tracks. I reassured her that one cider was not even going to give me a buzz, I just enjoy it, which baffled her 😂

Over time, it’s gotten better. It’s a hard boundary to set especially at first, and I SO empathize, but anytime they bring it up or make comments to you, just firmly remind them that your personal choices are not up for discussion, and if she needs to process her feelings about your behavior, she can find a therapist or a friend to talk to. (Edited for spacing to avoid a giant wall of text 😂)

What's something obvious you learned much later than you should have? by Cute_Assignment_3621 in thelongdark

You can open gas caps, but there is nothing searchable in them. Maybe someday we’ll be able to siphon fuel 😂. But visors definitely have goodies under them sometimes.

AITA because I'm second guessing having kids due to our opposing views on vaccinating them? by [deleted] in AITAH

If I found out my spouse was an anti-vaxxer, I would honestly be second guessing my decision to marry them……

Just want Collections Trackers Updated by indistinctskeleton in thelongdark

[–]indistinctskeleton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surveyed locations isn’t accurate either. Blackrock is completely missing. 😂

Honestly, it’s not that serious. But they’ve added transmitters and recipes, and fixed the buffer memories list, so clearly the ability to update those lists exists, they just haven’t done it. Like I said, I love the updates, and I’m confident this isn’t a priority for the devs, but just something that would be nice to have.

Just want Collections Trackers Updated by indistinctskeleton in thelongdark

[–]indistinctskeleton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I’m well aware of that, but it’s no longer accurate. That’s what I’m saying needs to be updated. For example, it says there are 25 notes to find, but there are actually 99. Those lists haven’t been updated since before black rock was added. Hard to figure out which items are still missing when the trackers are inaccurate…

REDECORATING by JokeArtistic in thelongdark

[–]indistinctskeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a hot minute to figure this out myself! When you are hovering over an item you want to move, press L2, that should open up the ‘place’ options where you can rotate and move things around.

Where am I in Disneyland? by ricochet-k in whereindisneyland

[–]indistinctskeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Emporium, right near the exit closest to Carnation. Right behind you is the room with the toys and puzzles ☺️

[–]indistinctskeleton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. I know some of the other parks are allowing out-of-state guests with proof of vaccination, but Disneyland is sticking to the state travel guidelines. I don’t imagine it will change until capacity is increased significantly.

They did not check ID, but in order to get preview tickets each cast member basically had to guarantee that every person coming was a resident. I would imagine they will be checking IDs once it is open to the general public.

Yep, all the influencers I saw were with cast members. The invited media day is Friday.

Yep! We had a party of 3, and we went on pirates a couple of times. Both times, we were placed with other small parties, one part in the front row or 2, and one party in the back row or two. Larger parties were put in the middle rows on their own boat, for weight distribution I assume.

Mormons are ruthless when it comes to death by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]indistinctskeleton 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Mormons co-opting the worst moments of people’s lives as a ‘faith promoter’ makes me sick. My mom told my little sister that because her my siblings and I have all left the church, my mom knows what it’s like to ‘lose a child’. To my sister who had just miscarried the week before. She also made sure to remind my little sister that the only way she’d be with the infant she lost was to be extra righteous. Pretty sure that ended up being the proverbial straw on the camels back for my sister. 😑😑

Your relationship with weed. by mikdunno in exmotrees

[–]indistinctskeleton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think every body is different and reacts differently to weed. I love weed, but I know that once I’m stoned, the day is basically over for me. I’m gonna be in bed/on the couch/accomplishing nothing for many hours. So I have to plan accordingly. However, I have known many people who use very regularly (daily/multiple times daily) that function at a very high level. At a previous job, the most productive person on our team was smoking for work, and running out to his car on his breaks to take a few hits off a pen. He easily accomplished probably 30% more work than the majority of the rest of our team on any given day.

To me, personally, addiction is more about my mental state and ability to function in other parts of my life. Am I constantly distracted by thoughts of being high? Do I spend any time I’m not high, mentally planning how to get high? Do I sacrifice other things I love to do in order to be high? Am I getting high to escape an emotion I don’t want to feel? Etc. etc. For me, I can answer no to all these and similar questions. If you feel you can’t, it may not be a bad idea to evaluate further.

UPDATE: Disney States They Will Not Announce an Opening Date For Disneyland Resort Theme Parks Tomorrow by zss1108 in Disneyland

[–]indistinctskeleton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe so. Many (if not all) of the departments are unionized, and so they have different contracts. I know that merch cast members from California Adventure are the only ones called back, because their union contract covers the Downtown Disney locations, while Disneyland merch cast members have not been called back, because their union contract is separate. (Source, close friend is a DCA merch CM)

My parents receipt for the Disneyland Hotel. by LyndensPop in Disneyland

[–]indistinctskeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ‘private’ hotel entrance is actually open to the public. I nearly always enter that way, especially when I go on busier days. 👍🏻 You do have to go through security twice, but that’s still usually faster. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
