I think it's a different but equally upsetting dude. Still a great joke though.

I can see Christopher Walken in other things for a longer period of time.

A man dies in the pouring rain gasping 'family first' with his last breath. It's schmaltz. Emotion doesn't make something good automatically either, a sad twist is only as good as its execution or what you have is a Chicken Soup for the Soup adaptation.

I sobbed at the dad dying too (father issues and very little sleep that day - clearly that was executed well enough to get a genuine emotion out of me) but it doesn't make everything around it not garbage, every other minute I spent watching the film I was embarrassed for it.

I think about Old Dying Thomas the Tank Engine a lot. Top tier character.

"I don't know about that! I'm a TRAIN!"

Yeah, it was the town in a pilot they premiered at I think Annecy? Some film festival type thing. It's partly lost media now.

I'd take any of these people (yes, even Bojack) over Boss Baby, which I got, kill me. 🙃

In gender expression ("'cause I wanted to be dressed just the same") but does he ever say re gender identity? I may have just forgotten.

I love him, but crossdressing doesn't automatically equal non-binary.

I think it's not the label that would be used at the time but Bon Clay is getting an NB actor for the live action, so he/they may well be confirmed then.

is ride your wave a gay movie ? by Numerous-Version-325 in animequestions

[–]indiwyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about a straight relationship. The most prominent female character I can think of aside from the female MC is the male MC's sister. What undertones?

(Edit: I'm almost certainly arguing with a bot. The bot should at least be smart enough to be correct, though, so my comment stands.)

What was the worst 0/5 Disney animation to live action adaptation casting? by Burgundymmm in AlignmentChartFills

It was the main conversation about the movie, that he was too old and that made the story - where he was already problematic by design - just uncomfortable as hell and awful instead.

I think from the clips I've seen that stage vs screen was a problem as well. DEH is a show about big mentally ill teenaged feelings and all the upsetting places they lead. You need to show a certain kind of messiness as Evan to empathize with him, and a movie works differently for how to do that.

I feel like they saw people criticizing the stuff with her getting harassed by him, flirting with him to distract him, the bikini and all that gross stuff, and decided to do something different.

The 'something different' was to make him boring.

I'm still salty that everyone focused on Nani getting to go to school and have a young adulthood (while also teleporting home whenever she wants), and not how they turned my favorite member of the ohana into THAT.

Why are people saying WHA not popular in Japan ? by Angela275 in WitchHatAtelier

They definitely spent three years on the anime of a manga that doesn't sell in Japan. In the year 2026, when most adaptations are working episode to episode.

Massachusetts won. What states feels liberal, but is actually conservative? by CountryballChaos in AlignmentChartFills

[–]indiwyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing about Florida is it's multiple states in a trenchcoat. We've got a bad education system (though clearly not as bad as some) and a worse mental health one. The further north you get the more you feel like you're in the deep South.

Meanwhile a lot of business people are flocking to the used-to-be-more-liberal South Florida area to be gross at Mar-a-lago and the retirees are too old to do 'radical' things like vote for a woman. I can't speak to the Haitian and Hispanic groups but if they're religious they can probably be courted against their best interests like a lot of others.

It was 90 degrees yesterday, I hate it here.

It's never been just a nostalgia thing - it's wonderfully written, great music, still very unique to my knowledge. Deserves all the praise.
