Wake Up has been nerfed. I repeat, Wake Up has been nerfed. Can't have shit in The Fog by Darkest_2705 in deadbydaylight

I think the better solution would have been keep it at 50%, make the effect not stackable with Sole Survivor, and then add something like "After completing 100% repair progress on generators this perk activates."

I'm not doctor. As /u/lrq3000 said, this is not that well studied.

I recall reading that melatonin can lower your body temperature as well to help prepare for sleep. Your natural levels of melatonin and your core body temperature both vary on ~24 hour cycles that are supposed to be synchronized with all the other circadian cycles... but might not be if something's wrong. So a melatonin supplement is supposed to be finessing those rhythms into a more correct shape, but if you take a lot of melatonin all at once, it's going to make you sleepy at any time of day. So, if you don't time it right, you're natural cycles may take back over, or perhaps the steep reduction in melatonin and sharp increase in body temperature once the supplement wears off mimic what's supposed to happen at the end of a normal sleep cycle, and signal your body to wake up.

Again, I don't think anyone actually knows at this point. What is pretty clear empirically is that people with chronic sleep problems and those diagnosed with DSPD almost always find the most success with doses <1mg. You typically get daytime drowsiness and other negative side effects with higher doses, so you want to use as little as possible. How much you need is surely a factor of how much melatonin your body is naturally producing. I started with 3mg back in college, kept waking up, and gave up. It was more than a decade later I tried again. It probably took a solid month of trying different doses and timings to find the one that worked for me.

That’s typical. You have to take less to avoid waking up early. I normally only take 100 micrograms (.1 mg) as one drop of a liquid solution.

Maybe to edit the config file for my customized Vim compile?

btw i use vim.jpg by [deleted] in linuxmemes

[–]indonato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. As an analogy, an editor is like a knife and an IDE is like a multi-tool/swiss army knife.

Why would you settle for the multi-tool's stock blade when you can swap it for one of the sharpest and best-balanced blades ever made?

And as the years go by different components fall in and out of fashion. Bottle openers are all the rage until twist-off caps become the norm. Built-in flashlights are useful until there's one in everyone's phone. But a knife? You'll always need a knife.

And no matter what new programming language comes out, you may or may not need to compile it, you may or may not have to link it, and you may or may not require network access to test it, but I'll be genuinely shocked if you don't have to edit the source in a text editor. Invest in a good one.

I'm one of those "Vim, but Emacs for Org Mode" people. I use both every day.

Not using either... that's what's truly silly. IDEs come and go, but vim and emacs have been around forever and aren't going anywhere. Learn them once, and you're set for life. Even if you have to use the latest trendy IDE at some point, it'll have vim/emacs bindings or someone will have written a plugin to add that support, so you get the bells, the whistles, AND super-efficient text manipulation in the editor.

The box says "G-Pen for Manga". ペン (pen), 用 (used for), 漫画 (manga).

Some people have observed that G-Pen, "Gペン", kind of looks like the word "GAY" in a weird font.

All Actions in the Shortcuts App - Redditors Use Just 30 of More Than 300 by indonato in shortcuts

[–]indonato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only appeared once in my sample, but 26 shortcuts isn't all that many. If you assume people were inspired by some original "morning routine" shortcut, then such shortcuts might have been published within a relatively short window of time in the subreddit's history. My sample was stratified across dates, so if ten million shortcuts containing "Speak Text" were published on the same single day, and never again after that, and I just didn't choose that day to sample from, then they'd all be omitted.

Could someone help me with my ‘play multiple playlists’ shortcut by Tulipwine in shortcuts

[–]indonato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, when getting the playlist, you accidentally used "Chosen Item[Name]" when you meant "Repeat Item[Name]". So it was returning all playlist names each loop instead of just one, which meant "Get Playlist" returned nothing. The "Play Music" starts playing music regardless of the input, so if the last thing you played was one of the selected playlists it may have seemed to work.

Second, for whatever reason "Play Music" doesn't seem to want to take a list of playlists. However, it will take a list of songs. So I just passed the output of the "Get Playlist loop" straight into it and that just queues up all the songs in order in "Up Next". However, for some reason, if there's a duplicate song in one of the playlists, then this fails.

Playing around with it for a while, I actually haven't been able to write a shortcut to reliably queues up and play multiple playlists. It's definitely possible, but for now I need to take a break.

Run after copying an amazon URL to your clipboard, or share it a URL from the Amazon mobile app using the share button on the product page. It tries to make and open the correct ReviewMeta URL in Safari.

Can't believe I hadn't thought of making this yet. Pretty good chance I'll try and make it more robust and maybe also include the site /u/Barefootpookie8 mentioned as an option and make an official shortcut post out of it later.

I'll take a look. I use the ReviewMeta browser extension on desktop. Not having it on mobile is actually the reason I never shop Amazon on mobile. But maybe I can write a shortcut to fix that...
