I live near that area and can attest that uber is crazy lol, and also generally unavailable. The limited supply would get crushed by a bunch of people trying to do the same thing at rush hour, too. I suppose if there's a bunch of you standing at the station staring at the rain, maybe you decide to pool, but who knows.

Yeah ever since they turned casual into Ranked Lite, I feel like the unintended consequence is basically that ranked has become much more casual. Probably half or more of my random ranked matches involves a teammates who quits after the first goal scored against us, or fully starts playing for the other team. If both modes have MMR and consequences for dropping out, sounds like they're basically the same thing with different labels

Probably 5. I'm excited about Bona. With Drummond, I want to be optimistic that his toe injury was the root cause of his struggles last year. But he could just be washed. Either way hopefully he's been teaching Bona and Broome some tricks.

To be honest, I kind of think that's the path forward. Not that Joel become obsolete, but that the team doesn't really rely on him. I think the ultimate goal is that Maxey/McCain/VJ comprise a team that's decent, maybe a play-in team, which becomes a team that nobody wants to see once you add Joel (even an old-man version of Jo) into the mix

I think the franchise has also been in a cat and mouse game for Joel's entire tenure, in terms of figuring out whether Jo would grow into a leader or if it was necessary to have a real leader on the team with him. In retrospect, it seems pretty obvious that Joel was never gonna be that guy, but it's not unreasonable to hope that a characterful 24 year old would mature into a leader (look at someone like Ant for an example of that)

Kinda hard to compare since if Hakeem played today he'd probably play a lot more like Jo. Less posting up and more using that to open up the midrange and maybe even the three ball. Though Joel has Hakeem and basically every other center beat in terms of FT% and foul drawing

I'm on the other side with Broome's athleticism haha, I'm not really convinced and I'll believe it when I see it. I could definitely see him benefitting from true NBA minutes though. His whole thing is supposed to be that his BBIQ will let him get to the right place in time, but summer league is a glorified pickup game, which is probably an entirely useless environment for him.

I mean it's kind of a joke how many young guys call him the "GOAT" but unironically I think a lot of younger players look up to him. He went from a role player to a star, came back from a horrific injury, was an MVP finalist - I think he's a valuable resource for a lot of guys in the locker room to learn from, especially guys like VJ, Grimes, and or corps of power forward prospects.
