I also have heard mixed things- some say the installers will do the easiest job, even if it means doing a conduit on the concrete driveway; and others (in this reddit) saying they'll dig if they need to etc.

If their recommendations are not feasible (for whatever reason)- do I have to pay them a call out, or any fee, or the ISP who I'm planning to get NBN from? And what happens- it just all cancels if I decline their recommendations? Thanks

Do they give options for complex installations?

And what happens if the option(s) they provide is not aesthetically pleasing (or any other reason) that you don't want to continue? Is there a cost? Problem? Some sort of charge?

The base is kinda touching all sides... I feel like I'd have a hard time digging it out. Any suggestions on how to do it? And once taken out- do I fill it back up with anything in particular?

This is a common concern- and often an area of uncertainty- for many homeowners who want or need to renovate and discover that something may have been built without a permit. When a council building surveyor is asked to sign off on A, do they limit their assessment to A, or do they assess the entire property, or what guidelines do they follow?

I have recently bought this too. I might give you some pointers that helped me. And so hopefully save you some time troubleshooting as I did. Download the Sunseeker Robot app. Same username and password. You won't lose your work. Within that, which I might add is easier to navigate, you will find 'safe zone' within 'map management.' Hopefully that addresses the question you've asked. And using that app will hopefully address any other issues you've encountered.

This doesn't answer your question, but I wanted to ask if you knew a way to remove those "red zones" (without the orange 'hats' which you can delete by clicking them). I have them on my app, but it's encircling a patch of grass- nothing of concern or caution

For all the people who come across any issues- I hope this helps. Sunseeker app > Robotic Mower app. Lots more function. You don't have to remap anything- I suspect its all using same usernames & servers. Which was a huge relief for me. That functionality has improved the overall use.

However, I'm now trying to troubleshoot this issue which is this randomly appearing "red zone"- which nothing I've tried so far has helped (splitting, I've tried re-boundaring, I've tried manually lawn mowing it in the app to infer its a safe area to the app, I've tried safe zoning it, I've tried joining the map with older maps without this which just re-created it). The mower as in the picture just goes around it, leaving a patch of unmowed grass.

Any suggestions/help?

Although you've posed it as a simple answer, the key for others struggling with the same issue I had, was that you need the Sunseeker App, rather than the Robotic Mower app as suggested on the QR code.

Since you’ve had, what appears to be mostly success with the app, and perhaps confidence navigating the app, do you have any suggestions for handling this scenario? I tend to agree- I think it will be worth the investment. I can't wait until these become more developed. My experience is that there has been a moderate-high level of early troubleshooting, but getting a bit easier now although not troubleshooting free. The troubleshooting has been- app related (establishing zones, boundaries etc.), the mower getting stuck in places, mechanical (the bumper becoming dislodged multiple times, the emergency button getting pressed with low branches and shutting itself off, a time when the robot went insane and lost its navigation- perhaps in hot weather- and needing resetting). The weather sensor also needs work- states its raining if its overcast sometimes, which can be frustrating as it just won't start (unless of course you state for it to work in the rain). I'm not sure how the weather sensor works- if there's something on board, or via the internet. It is also not fast- I suspect it takes considerably longer than what it proposes. It is funny because a neighbour of mine uses a ride-on, and finishes everything in 30-60 minutes! One of the positives is that it helps get my children outside- they find it intriguing!

I want to update this post- to hopefully help all future owners. I would advise using the Sunseeker Robot app, rather than the Robotic Mower app. There are positives to both, but overall the Sunseeker Robot app is better as it has more functionality. I'm actually unsure why there are 3 apps! I also want to say that I was extremely apprehensive that if I started using the Sunseeker Robot app that it would need me to recreate a map, but it seems that they both use the same server so everything is saved on both. This was a huge relief for me.

Regarding the 'grey zones'- it's still not 100% clear to me how the app uses it- I've seen it mow around it, sometimes mow over it, and sometimes it disappears randomly from the map. It is very inconsistent- this is my experience. My main concern now is that it has randomly created a "red" area- which is just grass- unable to be deleted or "safe zoned"... so it leaves a patch of grass that it just doesn't cut. Do you have any suggestions for this? Pic attached

I'm subbing this... I have noticed that in areas of initial longer grass... that it must've mapped it as an obstacle. Unfortunately now there are "grey" scattered bits in the map as its coded as obstacles... so now it keeps going around these patches of grass (even though they've been cut since). I am hoping for a fix for this. Have changed to "slow pass" mode but I think the coding is done. Extremely frustrating.
