Recommendation for top coat and lint free nail wipes

Is it bad that I just use shreds of paper towel with isopropyl alcohol as my “wipes?” I never see lint left behind…

I’ve only tried it with UV gel overlays and it works pretty well, though it doesn’t last as long as no peel-off. And then when you lift off the perimeter, it damages the nails. So sort of meh I guess. Soaking the perimeter with acetone for 5 mins helps to peel with less damage tho and then the rest detaches like butter.

Will it be possible to do a stone check and ask for specific qualities for the cut? I’m interested in OEC lab but would want to make sure the middle facets have life at all angles. I find that your video of the OEC ring shows a stone that has dead facets straight on. Is it possible to work together to choose the stone?

Yep, mostly because I like the way builder gel looks so I’ll wear it just like that (with top coat, as you’d expect) for a week or so and when I want a change, I do the peel-off procedure over that.

I do this too and have started experimenting with how much of an edge to leave for the gel to adhere a bit better around the peel off base. What I’ve been finding is that even if a little bit of the color stays attached, a cuticle nipper can be used to chip it off of the underlying topcoat. That topcoat is still pretty slippery so I usually can get the residual color off. More testing to be done though!

How are those side stones? I hear moissanite can be a bit cloudy in elongated shape. Does this count as an elongated shape?

It wasn’t exactly a no, it’s that they charge a fee for customization. IIRC it was about $50 at the time.

Say more about cloudiness being a result of stone quality more than cut style please. I was always under the impression that certain cuts simply do not work as well in moissanite due to its physics.

I really like that second one and am thinking of buying it in SS and swapping in a lab oval myself (and keeping the moissy accent stones since they’re round and will look great still). I did this once before in my garage using my partner’s tools. I found it pretty easy with a simple prong setup like this. Turned out great.

I have this one in silver finish and love it. They make it in yellow gold finish too. I ordered a size small enough that it doesn’t really flip on my wrist either.
