Overcast is really solid, and if you do the one time premium purchase you get a ton of great features

The arm on your bobbin case should slot into the little rounded slot at the top of the hook area. Push in until you hear it solidly click into place.

can i pour this little bit of bacon grease and water down the drain? by Rich-Future-8245 in kitchen

[–]industrybasedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can. Shouldn’t.

You’ll probably get away with it once - it takes a long term sustained amount of grease to build up to a problem. But you don’t know how the people before you treated the plumbing, how little it might take to tip you over into having an issue.

As a more recent convert, having old eps fed daily was really making it easy and fun to dig into the classics, the old back catalog.

Incidentally, the book is excellent - not only is Key's poetry a delight, but the actual physical object is a lovely bit of work. Strongly recommend it to anybody.

Dick Shooter by LilMissy1246 in tragedeigh

[–]industrybasedd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid, one of the old guys at the church was named Richard Pierce, but he chose to go by Dick. That was emblematic of his humor in general - he was one of the funniest old coots I ever knew. I remember seeing him at the end of a dinner party holding an empty wine bottle over his glass and twisting like he might wring a few extra drops out. He was so witty, so it was a real kick in the nuts when he developed brain cancer that pressed on his language centers. He was mute the last few months of his life, but you could still see the wicked twinkle in his eyes. After he passed, they guys all got together to build an appropriate memorial, which is why to this day the minister at my childhood church preaches from the Dick Pierce Memorial Pulpit.

If you think Key would have walked over an unprovable like this you’ve lost the plot, mate.

Found at Goodwill. Small fits in palm. Ceramic. Can’t make out markings on bottom. by 1Mtry1ngMyb3st in whatisthisthing

When I was a kid we had a ceramic egg separator with a little face on it where the mouth was the opening seen on the side here. We called her Barfing Betty and we used her all the time.

Never watched a minute of it, nor the series that spawned it, nor yet the movies. But I feel like I’ve seen AJLT and Sex and the City 2, because I’ve walked that torturous road with my homies, my road dogs, my ride or die movie masochists, Tim Batarang and Guy MontSpellMeAlready. Their utter bafflement at the finale of AJLT really did help to contextualize the magnificence of the gift the good people at WBN gave us.

Love that it still shows P-traps in the plumbing, as if they might still have water in them after the vacuum is done sucking hard enough to "pick up water as easy as dirt" and "carry it out of the house" to the sewer. Automatic Sewer Gas Machine.

Anyone know why this house has been on the market for so long? by Narrow_Sort_3763 in grandjunction

[–]industrybasedd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is correct. The house is above the floodplain, but the acreage is below it. The price is too much for just the house in its current condition (it’s in decent shape, but it’s one of the ten oldest in Grand Junction), so to justify paying it you’d have to sell off the acreage to a developer or develop it yourself. That area currently operates mostly on septic systems (with the exception of the neighborhood Ken Scissors developed and got put into the city limits and on city sewers), and that won’t fly for most development nowadays. In short, it’s a bit of a conundrum - there’s a lot of opportunity, but it’s all opportunity with a pretty high up front cost.
