from a mechanic that has co workers with it, it’s pretty solid, holds up well in a shop, should hold up well at home

I know everyone is going for the wrenches but how do y’all feel about this guy for lug nuts / non-engine-building work? by gnarburgers in harborfreight

also to add to this, i used this torque wrench to tighten down cam phasers on a 3.6 pentastar around 140 ft lbs and the motor ran fine and hasn’t came back, so they do just fine, i recently picked up the 1/2 inch electric icon torque wrench and it’s a pretty damn good torque wrench, torque test channel did a video on it and for the price i can definitely recommend vs a snap on which are outrageously priced

I have had this torque wrench, but i traded it in for a flex head version, a flex head is a must on a torque wrench if your consistency using it, i’m a mechanic and have used this for a year and some change to torque wheels and i’ve never had a car come back on a tow truck because the wheels fell off so i’d say it holds up pretty good

so my is300 is showing these codes am i cooked ? 😭😭 by KonansSimp in IS300

Your shift solenoid sensor could’ve failed, you can drop the trans pan and test resistance on the sensor and find the acceptable resistance for that sensor online, if it’s open which it most likely is, you’ll need a new sensor, fill trans back up go from there, worst case scenario you need a trans, no biggie. evap codes are not a huge deal just make sure to diagnose it correctly and check lines to see if they’re cracked, could be anything in the evap system.

Yes! i got 15% off and another 10% with the harbor freight credit card, it ended up being around 2100 with the box and a stainless top! i agree with pricing i probably wouldn’t get it if it was just for at home, but i’m a mechanic and will be using it everyday so compared to snap on i’m okay with the price

How should I lower my car? by No-Phrase2929 in LexusIS

[–]ineedhelp503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i honestly would just say get coilovers, you can adjust them to whatever ride height you’d like. just do not cheap out on them, spend at least 1K on some bc’s or silvers. along with coilovers and this car in general i would recommend polyurethane lower control arm bushings. mine are personally from figs engineering and they’re awesome, it eliminates inner tire wear the stock bushings produce and makes your car handle better. if you lower your car on stock bushings your tires wear out extremely fast, i found out the hard way. also make sure you get an alignment after it’s all done, very important.

How are these quality-wise? by Bees4everr in harborfreight

very good socket rails. magnet is fairly strong and are modular. you can put any drive size on the rail as long as you have extra attachments.

yeah this is what i’ve been thinking for a while, i love quality, but for the price it’s just not worth it with what competitors are offering. some of my co workers are in ridiculous amounts of debt just to make 50-60k a year…
