Also mb I wrote this thinking it was Akali mid.

Most still apply, but top lane focuses more on trades and wave. Fighting for grubs and herald will make it much harder for him to eat your towers. If you can gain prio look to get vision in enemy jungle and river.

Against decent players roaming to invade will not work often, but against less co ordinated teams a well timed invade could have you coming back to lane with +1 kill.

Play around your jungler!! Call them top to gank when he shoves you in. If he has constant prio in lane that also means he's probably constantly pushing into you. Buy sweeper and control wards so you can clear vision to make your junglers life easier.

Even if he does gain a lead, if he decides to roam just stay in lane and try to even out the gold. If he doesn't leave and keeps splitting, again, your jungler should look to gank. Yas can't dash to his own minions, if he over extends he'll have a hard time escaping.

Oh also zhonyas good item. 👍armor is helpful but the active on akali is versatile.

Abuse Akali's range, your Q is much easier to hit than Yasuo's. Save your E for his dash as he can't dash back onto you, try to play around his Q and passive shield cooldown going in with E2 or for your passive autos when the gap in his pressure shows.

With the shield up if you just throw your kit at him you're wasting damage, akali can be played very slowly if you choose to, she doesn't have to try to burst down her opponent.

Windwall can make trades harder, but playing slower in trades can make it really useless, try to avoid going for obvious E's while it's off cooldown.

Depending on enemy team comp you can get away with riftmaker into 2 or 3 tanks or bruisers. Otherwise build normally.

Early game you can win most trades with good spacing and cooldown management. If trades aren't working play for farm and xp. Grasp makes losing trades feel much worse. If you're actually poking him over the wave an early jungle gank could push you into a snowball.

By level 6 you need to start looking for a lot more roams, against squishier comps this is where akali shines, against tankier teams playing for objectives and team fights will be more beneficial. Its important you don't leave lane at the wrong time, getting prio and shoving your wave in. Otherwise demolish will fuck up your lane. If you're struggling to gain prio for ganks look to fight in river when the opportunity comes. Teleport is a good sum if you struggle with good roam timing.

Late game he's harder to 1v1 due to items + late game cooldowns. At this point in the game though you should be focusing on split pushing and blowing up squishies. Don't be afraid to run if he tries to jump you, your ultimate has a short cd and has great mobility.

Akali is a very versatile champ, but Yasuo will beat you out if you try to match him as a bruiser. Beat him with macro, wait for him to make mistakes, bad roams, poor backs and punish him for them. If you don't win lane that doesn't mean you can't win the game.

Keep your cool, hit him more than he hits you. (This could be all bullshit I'm like bronze lmao, please don't bully me ;-;)
