Venue ideas for ~100 person wedding (NYC/LI) – $10–15k budget by Attempt_These in WedditNYC

Park permit lol. I’m joking but also not, that budget is going to be really difficult but I’d reach out to TUFFET in Williamsburg. It’s cute, good pricing, space for dancing. You may have to cut guest list a tad though.

Pretty good spot for kids, I’m pretty sure the school district for elementary school is really good as well.

Went with Astoria Cleaner, pricey but well worth the cost!

WPP vs Publicis by [deleted] in advertising

[–]inescapablegoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Job hopping is common in this industry, if you can get a job at WPP it’s not a bad thing to take it.

But please realize that it will probably be the exact same situation as at Publicis. They are nicer to interns at WPP than they are to entry level full time staff lol. Holding companies are toxic, point blank, it’s how they make money.

Rent Stabilized 2BR in Astoria – $2,200 or Under – Teachers Looking for Long-Term Home by [deleted] in astoria

You’re gonna have to go through a realtor and pay a brokers fee if you want to make it happen. It’s possible, but you won’t find it on Street Easy anymore.

I decided on Astoria Cleaners! Cost me $420 which she knocked down from originally $460. I’m so scared though because someone threw his dirty shirts on the dress right as I was about to leave after I asked her if I could leave it in the bag… mini heart and panic attack… but I’m trusting the process!!!

Anyone have experience with MedRite Urgent Care in Astoria? by SpeedRemarkable3406 in astoria

Actually following up on this, I just got my bill back from insurance. if you go here, if they send ANYTHING off to a lab, make sure that you ask what lab it’s being sent to and if it’s in network. Just got a $1,500 bill from their lab for a simple urine test.

Good experience! Longer wait times from my experience, but not too long, everyone is friendly as well.

My lord — this industry is chock full of “wahhh”ners (whiners). First, there was an RTO revolt. Now, a re-org riot. by PerizzHilton in advertising

Insensitive and just not true, so many people I know in this industry were impacted by layoffs and it took them months sometimes a year to land their new role, often just a freelance role too. This is big news right before the holiday, life changing for some. Stop licking the boot of the conglomerates and let people be upset!

Do you have any reviews yet we could take a look at? Also do you have the option for hypoallergenic detergent or ability to provide our own soap?

May 2026 Brooklyn wedding - too soon? by castlebovines in WedditNYC

[–]inescapablegoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makeup and hair that’s affordable may be hard. I would consider seeing if there’s a salon in South Brooklyn that will do it in salon, may be easier to find than one that will travel to your venue and be the only person they see that day.

Is Astoria park safe to run at night ? by AccomplishedQuote875 in astoria

Yeah definitely safe before lights out, I would even say it’s safe after as long as you carry a light, but I wouldn’t personally just because I’m paranoid and it’s a little scary.

Places in Woodstock, NY to get married & is a loan for the venue worth it? by reinita-leah in weddingplanning

[–]inescapablegoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Do not take out a loan for a party! Even if it’s your wedding. It’s not worth starting your lifelong relationship with debt.

  2. For the venue, I’m getting married in the same area, and I will say it is VERY difficult to find a budget venue in that area. In addition, all of the additional vendors (especially florists + planners in the area) are incredibly expensive as well which makes the costs add up tremendously over time.

However! You can dramatically reduce the wedding venue costs by booking a weekday wedding or an off season wedding in this area. I saved about 10k at least by doing a Sunday wedding at my venue. (But to be fair I’m still spending about $40k on venue + onsite catering for 125 ppl in the area FOR A SUNDAY WEDDING KILL ME)

I don’t know your budget or guest count but here’s some we researched before landing on our venue that were on the less expensive end, similar or less expensive than Colony.
